Many of us have children that have already started school or go back this week-who got your money this year?

My winners:
Staples-lots of penny/nickel/dime/quarter deals.
Office Max-same as Staples
Office Depot-same as above.

My losers:
WalMart-Didn't buy 1 thing there.
Target-went there to get a few fill in items, but the selection was wiped out a week ago.
Meijer-used to do $10 off jeans/backpacks/shoes/FOL undies/Hanes undies with $10 purchases of other items. Only the FOL was done, and the prices on the Kelloggs items to get the $10 free were not good. The Hanes offer is this week, but again the prices are not good.
Walgreen-never had 1 thing in stock that was advertised.

Hope the 3 discounters get their acts together before Black Friday.

Target got all my money, just like it does every single year. :)

i got 12 packs of notebook paper for $0.12 yesterday at officemax (tax free weekend) and a new compaq desktop computer for $299.99 ($30 off, and $27 sales tax taken off)!
got 12 packs of notebook paper at officemax a few weeks ago for $0.20 each, 10 packs of pencils for $0.10, and packs of papermate pens for $0.10.
got colored pencils at wal-mart for $1, composition books for $0.50, and glue sticks for $.30.
last year, long after the back-to-school sales were over, i found a lunch bag at wal-mart for $2, obviously leftover from the bts stuff. i bought it, and DD began carrying it to school today (1st day).

I wanted to buy DS a Phineas and Ferb backpack at the Disney Store but the zippers on all of them were horrible! Very difficult to zip, even after a couple of tries. i bought the lunch kit there (zipper was OK) but got a P+F backpack at Target instead. All other supplies at Target too. I went around 10am last Wed and the aisles were empty. It was so nice...

Every year for me it is Staples and Walmart, this year was allll about Staples.

Two week ago was great, last week wasn't very good, but this week was great again! I went yesterday and got $70.75 worth of stuff and will be getting back $60.80 in rebates. I bought things in smaller groups and bought piles of the penny looseleaf paper. We may never need paper again. I love Staples. I walk to the one by my house (unless I am buying printer paper!) They don't disapoint with the deals.

Walmart got most of my money, and Walgreens a little bit. Supplies at my Walmart were easy to find and low enough prices that it wasn't worth it for me to shop around.

My kids wanted a specific type of zipper binder and I didn't see any of that type in any of the stores I went in so I ordered those from Amazon.

Used LL Bean backpacks and lunchbags from last year. I can't say enough good things about those backpacks.

For clothes for the boys it was Gapkids, Crazy 8 and Children's Place mostly. I liked Old Navy's prices, but not their styles. And they all got their shoes from Kohl's.
