Hi everyone-I remember seeing a thread last summer about amazing sales in Buffalo for school supplies. I think it was a teacher who had gone with her kids and was at Wal-mart, Target etc... in early August. Does anyone remember this or if you have gone can you give me advice for when and where to go? I am thinking of making a weekend out of it but not sure when would be the best weekend to go-Thanks for any input!

We usually do our back to school shopping in Pennsylvania for clothes (no tax) and school supplies.
Erie,PA & Grove City, PA have great sales on Labour day week-end.

Check out the budget board. There's a school supply thread. It should be in the first few pages.:)

Also if you do a google search for a buffalo zipcode you can check individual store sights and put in the zipcode to see the weekly flyer.:)

I did not go last year but the year before school supplies were on sale at the end of July at Walmart, and I remember thinking it was so early.

We were in Frankenmuth the third week of August last year and the school supplies were still on sale. REALLY good deals!! I am a teacher too and I bought a ton of glue sticks (10 cents!!) and tons of other stuff. They always have lists at the stores for each teacher and school telling people what they need to buy! I think that is really neat. I would like that for my own daughters!

Anyways, I have also been to PA (Lancaster County area) the third / fourth week of August and most sales were drawing to and end as they start back to school earlier than we do. They were a week ahead of us I believe the year we were there.

I would go to the store websites and check out their flyers. I do think you'll be pretty safe though in the week or two before school is back if you are in the Buffalo area as they also go back after Labour Day I think.

Have fun ... I love it :) LOVE school supplies :) I always have and likely always will!! My oldest goes in grade two this year, so we'll be able to buy a few more things ... soooo exciting :goodvibes

You can receive the new Target ad each week via email, it's helped me to plan when I want to go to Buffalo. I.e., this week's Target ad is "Dollar Week".
