Come out and tell people, "We don't know what is happening. When we do know, we'll tell you." Instead we get, "Here's a bunch of people who are going to speculate and guess as to what is happening - and we'll put anyone on the air who wants to make up a story. Beats admitting 'we don't know'".
Yes it would be great!
My niece and nephew were both struck by lightning this past summer while out on their lake. Of course I knew what had happened, the condition of both kids ... I'm family.
But the news reports were so off base with what they were saying about their conditions. As an example, one reporter said that my nephew was doing so well that he was back in the lake the next day. What?! He was still in the hospital and even once he was released he wasn't allowed to get the burn wet until it had healed sufficently. Not only that, but it was weeks, not a day, before he ever could face being afraid of the water.
So yeah, it would be nice if reporters waited until they had checked all the facts but I don't see that happening.
