Hi,
Just a note to all with kids in public schools. Sometimes we get frustrated because they put our kids on the wrong bus, let bullies get away with stuff, etc.
We have read so much about this kind of stuff and I have written things too.
My DS is 10 and started in middle school this year. He has a learning disability. He just wants to blend in with the crowd, not be singled out, etc.
Well...his locker the first day of school did not work(wrong locker combination). The maintence man said it would be fixed by then, but it did not get done. So, he went a week without being able to get into it.
Finally, success...then it started to rain in his locker. Yes, rain in his locker....of all the kids this had to happen to, it had to be mine!
His library books are ruined, his math, health book and other personal things are soaked. (it rained a lot here today). This is not the first time it has rained in this locker, just the worst.
The maintenance man said he could not do anything about it, just live with it.
Well, I just got off the phone with the vice principal. She knows my son well. She said he will have a new locker Monday and the school will replace anything that was ruined.
Wow! I am happy they are working with me. I did not ask her to replace anything, she suggested it.
With all the problems I had last year it is nice to have people listening to what I am telling them.
There are good schools, teachers and principals out there.
Thank you school employees!
