DD(4) is in Pre K through our school district.

She brought home a letter today about the upcoming holiday party. They are having pizza served by the cafeteria at regular lunch prizes. They will do a book exchange so bring a wrapped Golden Book. Then says

"Please help by sending the following item..."

on the proceeding blank line the teacher hand wrote

"Christmas Loot Bags(15)(Toys for boy or girl)

So is every kid sending a loot bag? Is my child gonna come home with 15 bags or I am the one parent chosen to send in bags and toys. And any ideas on cheap toys.

I thought for the bags I could use brown lunch bags and somehow help DD to decorate for Christmas, maybe stickers or something.

But what cheap toy can I get that won't break 15 minutes after they get home?

Play Dough?? The Dollar tree has little containers of playdough for 6 boxes for a dollar or something,
They also have gift bags that are really cheap as well

The teacher would be able to answer your questions better than we could! ;)

I'd ask the teacher to make sure, but I'm betting you were the lucky one chosen to make up 15 goody bags.

Some of the popular cheapie items with kindergarteners:

Rubber balls (you can usually find these in a package of 8 for $1)
Stickers
Playdough
Little notebooks

Oriental trading has some fun stuff, but they take a while to ship, so you probably wouldn't get it in time.

If it is you selected to bring the goody bags, go to Party City. You can get holiday themed luch type bags, plus all kids of loot to put in them. You can put candy canes, stickers, whatever. Theey have lots of good stuff for that.

I think she is asking everyone to provide 15 of the same item to put in the loot bags that she will provide. Your child should come home with one loot bag with 15 items in it.

That sounds about right.

agnes!

Wow, 15 pieces of loot is alot. As a parent with 3 kids, I have to admit that I have thrown away many more loot bags than I have saved. If I were you I would get something like pencils, pens, crayons, markers, notepads or stickers.

I'm guessing there are 15 kids and each parent is assigned something - like cupcakes, juice, plates, napkins, etc. and after those were assigned the remaining parents are assigned to bring an item for the loot bags.

I only came to that conclusion after seeing several other people speculate. It needs to be explained better or there's going to be a whole lot of loot!
