Is anyone a school governor? I've just got a couple of questions to ask if thats ok

I was a governor for six years, then was clerk to the governing body for a further five-ish years, but I haven't been actively involved for about 18 months now.

If I can help, I will do so gladly, but I won't be offended if you'd rather wait and see if anyone else with more recent experience turns up! ;)

This is quite difficult
I just wanted to know, that if a teacher had a black mark against his name and it had gone to county, and then he left that school and taught in another, would the new school know about this?
Would the head and the governors know this before they employ him?
He is teaching in my class:sad2:
( i know his background through a source)

Generally, I think it likely that the head and governors would be aware of any past disputes involving the same county authority - assuming the 'black mark' was to do with the teacher's professional capability (not necessarily so if there was something not related to teaching).

Even if the knowledge did not come from official sources, the heads usually have a good community amongst themselves that would spread this kind of information.
