Scholarship...what would you do?

So, I just found out (or rather, my dh found out whilst he was perusing the newspaper) Friday that I won a scholarship for college through my towns Womens Business club that I applied for in early March.

Of course I am quite happy, but also a lil' bit irked. In the local paper it said they had an award ceremony early this month for winners of the scholarship since there were two highschool kids who won one, and me as a 'mature student" (heh....now I feel REAL old ) . It said I won the award but "was unable to attend".

Well.... I would've had attended happily IF someone had told me! lol
They had my phone number, home address, and the name of my college, so it isn't like I'm the hardest person in the world to get ahold of.

One of the ladies who wrote the article had her email addy listed , so I contacted her notifying her checking I was infact the winner, and she wrote back saying she would get intouch with the person in charge of the scholarships..

My question is how long should I wait before I contact them again? I don't want to sound pester-y , but I dont even know how much the scholarship is for. lol

Oh, I should've mentioned that..I called her too before I got her email and got basically the same message.

How long has it been since you contacted them? I personally would allow for a bit of extra time considering it is a holiday weekend, and a lot of people take extra time off around this time of year for grauduations and such. Give it a few days, then call again.

Who is this "her"? I would have gotten the direct number or name of the person in charge instead of having a person be a "go-between".

The one I am talking to is the lady who wrote the article, no the one in charge.

I'd be irritated, BUT I wouldn't let anyone know -- I'd be afraid of somehow making them take away the scholarship. For free college money, I could put up with a little insult.
