Schedule of Southwest Release Dates Next Date 6/28 Travel Thru 1/16

There's some info on the 'blog' section at Southwest's site regarding release dates and some upcoming changes...

We heard, from both Customers and Employees alike, that you didn’t like our policy of not publishing the dates on which we plan to extend the schedule. No problem! We now make the tentative, planned date of the next schedule extension available to our Reservations Agents, and in short order this information will be prominently displayed at southwest.com. Bear in mind that the planned schedule extension date will always be subject to change, as we have to “tweak” the date every now and then, due to forces beyond our control—so while you can use the date as a planning tool, please check back occasionally to make sure the date doesn’t change.

Has anyone actually been able to determine the next release date? I called SWA and the agent I spoke to didn't have it yet.

I couldn't find it either. I will keep checking, hopefully it will be up by the end of the week.

Thanks for the heads up, AllesonWonderland and Mickey Maniac! Personally, I don't so much care whether I can book 180 days out, or 120 days out, or even 90 days out, but it will be extremely helpful to know when I can book. I know it's probably little consolation to those of you who like to comparison shop, but at least it's something.

And I read the blog to mean that once they know when they'll release the next dates, they'll display them prominently on the web page. Now if they could just decide for this fall!

It was this date (19/APR) last year that they released the dates for September.
I've just checked their website, nothing there yet.

I called a Southwest rep this AM to find the tentative release of dates for the next release (I am looking for Sept) and they have 4/26 as the tentative release date. The dates will be through 11/02.

Just wanted to share.

Looks like we have to wait it out another week...
