This is what my friend and many of you may know him: BlueSorcerer got from a player that was acting like staff, and trying to get your log-in information and you disney account info.

HERE IS THE MAIL HE GOT:

I got on the computer and checked my e-mail then found this message:

Hello VMK Player,

Somebody is attempting to find your password to get on to your
account.
They may be very close to cracking the code so if you wish to have your
account stolen don't answer this message. If you want us to help you
stop him give us you membername and password so we can change it for you in our data base. After we change it we will e-mail it to you.

From,
VMK Staff

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

~ When you get mail from vmk make sure it is from the: mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com

~ You do not need to send vmk your member name: "e-mail" or your password to have it be changed. You can do that by editing your Disney Account on the Disney Sites.

~ If you are not sure if it is a real message from staff ask a grown-up or post it so you can ask for others help.

~ As you can see in the message above that the person sent does not even look or sound like a message you would get froma vmk staff.

~ You will be able to tell a real message from a fake, because of the way the letter is put together. Most messages from staff are auto-set.

~ Do not let this happen to you, and remember even if the staff ask for your information still say "No".

PLAY IT SAFE,
KrazyLuke

thx for the warning krazy! you probably saved me from being scamed!

Did they hack to get his e-mail adress? And btw that doesnt sound automated, which is what most all messages from VMK are. Stupid scammers.. :(

The staff could already have your password as they have access to the files.

Never-ever give your password to anyone!!

I would furthur add that e-mail such as that should be reported to your email carrier as well as the carrier it originated from. you can usually direct it to abuse@whatever,com and they will address it particularly if they get numberous complaints. They usually want you to forward the mail with the full header so make sure your acount is set to show all the delivery information.

Who would try to steal peoples stuff? Really Think of a little kid just winning inferno. Then they get scammed! I wished this stuff never happens but it does, So Look Sharp and do not get scammed

Thanks for the info Krazy. I had no idea that people were trying Phishing attempts ON KIDS! How sick can you get!
