If I buy SCAL and install it on my baby bug (so Rachel can use it for the duos swap) will I be able to install it on the "E" i'm hoping to get on black Friday OR will I need to purchase a second copy for the "E". Anyone know?

Or do I just install it on my laptop? And then download to the bugs?

I'm off to find a free download of CDS so I can "update the firmware" on my baby bug.

You install it on the laptop (and they let you use it on another computer as well). It does not install to the Cricuts, it works with the firmware. As long as your machines are up-to-date, you don't need to do anything else.
