Sbarros

Anyone else see Sbarros closings? We live north of Boston, and I just noticed the other night that the Sbarros at one of our local malls is gone. I didn't go there very often, but I always thought that it was busy? My daughter said that the one at the other mall closed too, but I haven't been over there lately. I've seen other food outlets come and go, but Sbarros has been around for a while. Just wondering.

Oh, say it isn't so!!!!

In the DC area, we have crappy pizza for the most part (pizza that you can get quickly). But Sbarro's is my favorite for that quick slice of pizza while out shopping. I think it's very good and always one of the busiest places in the food court.

I noticed at Tyson's Corner in Virginia (great mall), they are putting in a large Sbarro's in one of the wings. They used to be there many years ago (with their own sit-down area). It closed down and a jewelry store moved in. Now I see that they are opening a new restaurant so, hmmmm, it doesn't *sound* like they are going out of business.

There used to be an original Sbarro in Brooklyn, New York. Mamma Sbarro (Yep, she was real) would stay behind the counter (they sold yummy cold cuts there) and she would boss everyone around LOL. No matter what you ordered she always gave you a deli meat slice. Unfortunately the store closed a year ago, not sure if that has anything to do with the chain stores closing.

I have only seen them in malls. The pizza looks great, but I have never tried it(not one to sit in a mall to eat).
