After reading these I went and read our policies. Most are the same, no hats, no cells in class...nothing about cards. CD's can be used during lunch, but not in the halls. There is a note that if a parent wants their child to have emergency phone privledges, either by calls in or out, to notify the school in writing and they will be allowed use of school phones.
Middle school clothing policies are pretty tight. No spaghetti straps for girls. Tanks have to be covering bra straps. No shorts or sweats with printing on the behind. Shorts have to be the longer ones and can not be rolled at the waist.
And George...also over 40 here and up until I was in 8th grade we (girls) could not even wear pants to school. It was skirts or dresses. We had a "strike" day where we came in wearing jeans. we all got sent to the aud and they started calling parents. By lunch time they sent us all back to the classrooms....surprisingly most parents called were supportive of lifting the dress code. I remeber my Mom saying that she's glad she wouldn't have to buy 2 types of clothes anymore.
