Saw a fellow DVCer at the mailbox

In our neighbourhood we have large community mailboxes at the end of the street. Today I went to get the mail and walk the dog. A little while later I passed another mailbox on the next street over and the woman stopped to ask about my dog. What did she have in her hand but the latest copy of Vacation Magic from her mailbox.

I had mine in the basket of the stroller but I was too shy to say anything Small World.

Too shy to say anything!!!??? I would have been all over that topic like flies on garbage! We would have talked so long, I'd have had to invite her over! I found out one of my music students families is DVC. They own at SSR, and I have to be careful not to get started talking DVC and WDW with them at the end of the lesson!

My DH was the same way. He was like "Why didn't you say something?" I didn't want her to think I was spying on her mail

I would have been so excited to meet another DVC'er in the neighborhood!! Actually we do know of another DVC family in ours. They spotted my DH wearing a Mickey button down shirt at a neighborhood party and the husband commented he had one of those too and naturally we got to talking about WDW and then found out we were both DVC!

Well maybe you'll see her again with other DVC mail. Don't be shy! All the DVC'ers that I've met love to talk WDW/DVC!!!

DH and I are looking forward to the cooler weather, when we can again wear our DVC jackets! Can't tell you how many folks ask us about DVC, and that's all the license we need to start spreading the DVC !

DD just started her first student teaching job. WDW and DVC came up in conversation, and DD's teacher did the old"OMG!, OMG! we just joined and did our first trip Home! It was great."

I told DD to tell her Teach to chill out and read the DIS.

We have friends who own at OKW and when we get together nothing else but THE WORLD gets talked about!! I love meeting people who are interested in DVC. I think Dsnygrl, you should say next time you see her "have a magical day" and she might start the converation with you!! Have fun!

While attending the local Fall Festival a vendor made comment on the DVC t-shirt that I was wearing. Of course the vendor, her DH, my DH, DD and I all starting chatting about being DVC members. I was thrilled that someone finally noticed my t-shirt. I share my love for Disney with anyone!

Like many other owners on the Boards, we keep our membership somewhat secret from friends and family. So finding someone else who is a member would be great conversation!!!

I've got an even more "small world" story than that. A couple of weeks ago I had chatted with a guy right here on this very message board. I knew he lived in my community but after talking a little more with this guy, it turns out that he lives 3 doors down from my house. If I look out my front window, I'm basically staring right at this guy's house about 75 yards away from me. An extremely small world.

I've got an even more "small world" story than that. A couple of weeks ago I had chatted with a guy right here on this very message board. I knew he lived in my community but after talking a little more with this guy, it turns out that he lives 3 doors down from my house. If I look out my front window, I'm basically staring right at this guy's house about 75 yards away from me. An extremely small world.

That says a lot, especially in a town as small as Swansea.

I did find out that a couple of seasons ago that a mom with my daughter's soccer team was also a member. We had wonderful conversations during practice.
