Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience

On our last trip to WDW, we did the Wild Africa trek and loved it. i was wondering if the Savor the Savanna Evening Safari Experience was a Similar Experience except at night. Is it primarily an ATV tour? is the food similar?

It's similar but shorter. Take the last part of the WAT where you're on the savannah in the truck and then going to the boma platform. Shorter time on the truck and more time on the boma with more snacks and drinks. I have food allergies so they made up my own little tiffin; the food was similar to what I recall from the WAT (including a delicious mild chicken curry which I remembered). For everyone else, there was a food spread/snack buffet laid out. I was going to have more of that as there were things I could eat, but I was actually a bit full from what they had given me. There were some African beers and South African wines as well as POG juice and soft drinks. It started to get dark about 20 minutes after we got there but you can still see. We could see and hear the lions setting up a group roar 3-4 times while we were there. Really enjoyed it.

It is not really anything like Wild Africa Trek as there's no action done on the guest part. It's simply ride, listen and eat.

We have only done The Savor the Savannah tour, but we have done x3. It's one of my favorite tours.

You have a private bus and get some private time on the savanah with your guide. We also got to talk with a animal keeper who called over some animals. Giraffes were very close and some cattle. It was really cool.

You also spend quite a bit of time at the Boma with your food and drinks. DH and I really like the African Beer.

The lions were also really active during 2 of our tours, so fun to get a so close to them.
