I had one of the highest paying jobs (BBB Hostess) because we got our base pay plus cash tips once a week so I think besides lifeguarding, BBB was the next highest paying CP job. I typically used my cash for eating out or small purchases at the grocery store. Rent comes out before your check so what you have left is for groceries, gas, etc.
I think by the end of the 6 months, I had saved enough to pay my first month's rent at a townhouse in the area for my professional internship so it was around $450 but I also didn't sit at home after work every day..we went parasailing at WDW, ate at a lot of the restaurants, shopping, spa, etc. I was able to do fun things and save a tad. If I were having to pay a car payment, health insurances, etc, I wouldn't have been able to do the fun things!
So you are able to save money but if you are paying for a ton of bills aside from just rent, gas, groceries and small bills on the side, probably not unless you are working like crazy which can happen too depending on your location!
