Saving FD MYW tickets to renew AP?

I apologize if this question has been asked and answered already. If someone currently has an AP, but would like to take advantage of FD, can they still book the FD package and save the associated tickets to put toward next year's AP renewal? I understand the FD tickets would expire, but can the ticket value be used for the renewal? Thanks!

Yes. Just make sure you move them to a fake name-Ticket Saver Profile before you enter your first park.

I'm assuming you have to move the tickets after check-in otherwise, prior to check-in, they are linked to the guest listed on the reservation? Is that correct?

Correct. Check-in day is when those tickets become “active” and then can be reassigned.

You will also have to include the Flex option or otherwise they'll expire at the end of your trip
This may already be required purchase for free dining? I have no idea

I THINK, even if they have expired as long as they are unused, you can apply their value to your AP renewal. In the previous ticket system, my DD would do this every year with her unused FD ticket. We’d have them put it on a hard ticket at check in so no chance of accidentally using it.
