Please read before flaming! I am not trying to "abuse or misuse" the system. We have more TS ADRs than credits and plan on paying for several meals OoP. We will use Adult TS credits for adults and Child TS credits for our triplets. BUT, some of the TS places are more expensive than others.

So, for example, if we eat at CP b'fast early on our first day, can I pay OoP for all 3 of my kids and then save those child credits to use for Chef Mickey dinner for the kids at the end of the week? CP b'fast is cheaper than CM dinner. I will use the credits appropriately and as intended, but I want to use them at the most expensive places and pay OoP for our family at the cheaper restaurants.

Also, we have CRT the 2nd day and are planning on paying for all of us OoP that day. Has that been a problem if you are on the DDP? I don't want to use 10 credits for the 5 of us.

Just got a report from my TA who was there over Labor Day weekend - she had no problems paying OOP for her child.

I agree with what you are doign. You are still using the child credit for a child. If you are going to a buffet yes use it there verses a regular kids meal it only makes sense to me.

We have had to do this. I usually book more meals than we are alloted in the dp so we have done what youare talking about but only kids use kid credit.

Thanks! Now I need to go through our ADRs and figure out which meals to pay OOP and which meals to use the child dining credits. DH and I will use ours at the more expensive restaurants as well!

One other consideration---if you sometimes change your plans on the fly while you are there, conisder just paying for meals with DDP credits until you run out. That way, if your plans ever change, and you can't reschedule a TS meal for some reason, you won't be missing out on a "pre paid" meal. If plans change early, you'll still have later meals to spend the credits on. If plans change late, you'll have spent your credits already.

It's not as money-efficient this way, but you may find that the flexibility to be well worth it.

another thought... kids' meals at TS menu restaurants tend to be cheaper than kids' buffet meals... therefore you may want to go OOP for the menu restaurants rather than the buffets, even breakfast, esp if your kids might share w/each other or you/dh... i.e. a kids' steak dinner at lecellier is $8.99 (other choices are less expensive such as $4.99/cheeseburger) yet kids' breakfast at CP is $10.99...

You can do it but I would also use the TS credits at the buffets. The difference between CP breakfast & CM dinner is about $2.

I agree with gigi1313 and pay OOP for the sitdown meals

I'm planning on doing this, also. We have 10 TS reservations made, and only 7 credits per person. I plan on paying for my DS5 at non-buffet places like 50's PTC, and saving his credit for dinner at Boma or CP. If I run into a CM that won't do this for us, then that's fine....we'll deal with it. I haven't read any reports recently about CM's not agreeing to do this, so I'm going to try it.

Have a great trip!

I always use kids credit for kitds meals but if we are at a meal where my kids want the kids menu ex prime time cafe just want mac and cheese I will pay for that because I know we are going to crystal palace the next day.
