Saving a file from BMP to JPEG?

Yes, you can. There may be other ways but here's how I do it.

-Right click on the BMP file
-Open it with Microsoft Imager
-Go to 'File' in your upper menu bar
-Choose 'Save As'
-You will get a drop down menu with JPEG as an option
-Select that and then click 'Save'

That should do it. :)

Have you tried save-as and seeing if you can change to .jpg? Also, just for the heck of it, create a copy, then change your file extension from .bmp to .jpg -- this has worked for me on occasion.

1. Start > Programs> Accessories> Paint
2. Open bmp file
3. File > Save as>
4. Select type as: jpeg or jpg

Done.

Tried it before I even posted here. jpeg or jpg is not a choice. Only choices are bmp or gif.

When you check its properties is it a bmp or a jpg? Sometimes your computer will only let you save internet images as a bmp until you clean out your cache. If it is saved as a bmp, copy and paste it into some kind of photo editting program and resave as a jpg.

If all else fails, post the link and have someone else change it and send it to you!!! I'd be happy to help.
