I don't know all the details to the story, I have only heard it through the grapevine, but I heard yesterday and again today the WDW is trying to eliminate Scoop from the daily seminars etc.
Both people who told me said that Disney was giving him alot of grief for his time spent with us Pin People, and they are not supporting him, or us for that matter.
I hope that those in the know will write the story of what is going on (Ed you know who you are) and all of us will write MULTIPLE letters to Disney telling them how important Scoop is to trading and how much we all go to his meets. We should all include in our letters that along with seeing our favorite attractions at WDW we always make sure to see Scoop and sit in on one or more of his seminars during each trip we take.
I know that I have been to Exposition hall 3 times already this trip to see Scoop and he has not been there. I was so looking forward to seeing him today and was told that he was still on vacation. Maybe, hopefully, tomorrow, but the rest of the gang all have to work. Sorry we all missed him together Donna, Ed, Jim, Heather, Bob, June, Michelle and Manny. But it was great seeing all of you for the little bit I did today.
So everyone get your pens, typewriters, or computers ready, lets start a letter writing campaign to save SCOOP. Peggie

I have not heard this yet, but this statement IMHO is not totally acurate. Disney does seems to support Scoop, they made a LE 750 pin with scoop sanderson on it.. and he sure hands out many CTT pins to guests.
Also MK supports the pin people since Expo Hall expanded the area for trading and the area seminars take place.

Scoop Sanderson is a character at MK and HH is an Actor/CM who creates Scoop. Disney has many jobs for him to do around WDW property and with all the cut backs his jobs only grow. As the pin seminars are very important to pin people , we are a very small group of guests compared to guest who watch the parades and other gatherings Scoop or Bill or whom ever he might be at the time must entertain. We probably spend more money that all of them but thats another story LOL
I do think Scoop does a excelent job at promoting and education pin collecting and trading and is a important part of pins at WDW and they should find time for Scoop to do the pin seminars.

Who very rarely misses a Sunday pin seminar, and there are others that drive a long distance each week end to do the same..and while we are there at the Expo. we buy our pins there, in support of these pin seminars, and of course Scoop..that last two Sundays we have bought in excess of $200.00 each trip, and that is just us...our other friends are spending about the same..

There may be other CM/Actors at MK and the other parks, but we are not spending this kind of money where , or because of them being there..and we are here....as Larry said, we spend a lot of money here on pins, and other stuff, bags, etc, and it is mostly because of Scoop that we are doing it there....

If Scoop is not there, then DTD, or the Contemporary, would be getting our money..

We support our friends, and favorites...we also like to be at Scoops pin seminars, and stand in the back, and watch the people that don't get to see him much, enjoy him as much as we do..and also the newbies, and we help them out after or before, if they ask...

Nope.....I hope this is some wrong info..Not the same w/o a week end w/ Scoop....

That is the point exactly Donna, either way they get your money so they don't care. Like Larry stated, you represent a small group in comparison to the overall picture.

There is a lot of competition among the depts to see who makes the most money...and the pins sales are one of the most competitive...that is why they like us to buy our pins when we are the Cont. on Fri nights, and compare to see how they are doing each week..but we have been buying our pins at the Expo hall instead....even the mgrs there suggested we buy our pins there, when we come to see Scoop, and support their pin seminars..

So it does make a difference where they get their money..competition..

Just ask any of them...or any of the mgrs..it is this type of thing that gets mgrs promoted... I know that they are thrilled at the Contemporary when they have a good night, and can pass on the information...the sales at the pin cart there have jumped so much since the Pin Meet started there, and they hoped for the same when they started the All Star meets....

I think when the parks were empty, and the only people in the parks were the pin people, we were the ones supporting them, w/ our pin sales, food sales etc...I think that is why they started some of the events they did..

First, all we can hope for is that the post or the
information in question is not true!!!!

We agree with Donna, without question there
is so much competition with the different departments
within the Disney Corporation structure, that is most
of their internal problems to begin with!!!! They
are all competing against each other instead of working
together as a team. Why this is set up this way, I
do not have the slightest idea. Does it 99.ok 5% of
the time cause problems and ruin a good thing YES!!!!!!

We also support Expo Hall and Scoops seminars there.
We make it a special point to make as many of his
seminars as possible and "learn" something each time
we attend. Let alone he is so awesome with the
kids and makes all of us feel so special (which remember
this is how you should be feeling at Disney!!!!) Scoop
is without question one of Disney's main characters
on Main Street and Expo Hall and YES, has to us, MADE
PIN TRADING "extremely informative" and a "very
interesting hobby", not just buying a piece of metal!!!!!!!

Please, Please let us know that this is a HUGE mistake
and that there is a post coming out soon letting us know
ALL IS WELL in the Kingdom!!!! If there is ANY information
of address's, email address's or any idea of how we
can contact management at Magic Kindom or the corporate
offices in California, you just let us know, we for one
(our entire family) will be the first to start a MAJOR SCOOP
CAMPAIGN!!!!!! Disney should be more than thankful
for what Scoop does for the pin traders and WDW!!!
For ANY REASON there is anything to this, we need to
find out WHO in the chain of command is stirring a pot!!!!!
AND FIX IT!!!!!! It just would never be the same!!!!!!

We love Scoop and hope that once again all is really OK
in the Kingdom and they make it right again for him!!!!!!!!!

I'am just as shocked as everyone else over this "rumor", but lets keep this in mind this bit of information is still in it's rumor stage and nothing has been confirmed. There is only one person that can give us the truth or close to the truth as possible without causing a response from Disney's legal dept and that is Scoop himself. I have a feeling that Scoop will respond, but in his own time. So lets give him this time and all will be answered.

I spoke to Scoop and he stated that this is not a possibility. He isn't going anywhere and the pin talks will continue. Sunday thru Weds. Scoop has been busy and trying to limit his involvement with Pins to the seminars only. He is trying to maintain his other involvements at Disney besides pins but in no way is he being pulled away from the talks by management.

Not that he doesnt love it when we write letters to Disney saying how much we enjoy the seminars and stuff but do it because you want to not because you are worried that he won't be there anymore to give them.

and it would be nice when we write our letters, that we ask that Scoop is aware of it. Sometimes I think they forget to let people know that they have gotten a nice letter or compliment..

are beyond excited and so happy for the post!!!
We look forward to our next trip to WDW and
seeing Scoop on our trip!!! It really puts the
"special magic" to a already special vacation!!

Please post a address and/or email and lets all
get the letters and posts going!!!! You know
it really is great when you are commended for
what you do!!! We make it a point in our industry
that when there is someone in ANY position that goes that extra step they should be commeded (HEY, they are the BACKBONE
of the company that keeps it going and keeps
that wheel well oiled!!!) for some reason it is
just quite often over looked!!!!!

I am glad to hear the news that Figgy wrote about Scoop.
I wish the two people who told me the rumors would come on and post what they told me, I know they are both DIS members.
I did not want to state what they told me because third hand information never comes out right. I hope they post what they have heard.
