We currently have 5 days left on our NE tickets. We were planning on using these all up on our upcoming trip (a couple of days at universal and a waterpark day). But I'm not so sure anymore. Our family is me (dw) DH, DD 5 and DS 2. We have tickets for me, DH, and DD but DD is going with her aunt in October as well so we are getting her an AP and then will still have her NE tickets left over. I'm starting to think it might be better if DH and I both just got MYW tickets for this trip and save all of our NE tickets for a different trip. We will be there for 11 nights this trip and if we got the MYW tickets we could run into a park in the evening just for the fireworks or parade or fantastic and it wouldn't cost much to add that day on. Part of the reason why I think this could happen is it's not just "us" going there will be 3 other adults all with the ability to add extra days without much cost (one has an ap). On the flip side if DH and I opt to just use our NE tickets and they opt for an extra day they could take both kids (dd with her ap and DS doesn't need one) and DH and I could relax at resort or wander DTD without kids. Soo what would you do??

We are dvc members so there will be future trips to use those NE tickets!!

P.s. posted from my iPad and autocorrect is never my friend!

for 11 days would consider an annual pass for WDW. Anything 7 days and over - annual pass is generally your best deal. You do get a discount being a DVC member. Might save your nE tickets for another trip - but you realize that you will probably have to go to guest services to get new tickets - the old tickets won't work with the new system - the new tickets require one of your finger prints (partially)

I would get new tickets. To be in Disney for 11 days, and only have 5 day tickets wouldn't work for my family. You could all get AP's and plan your trip for next year to use those same AP's and not have to buy tickets for another year. Just FYI to add to above poster about old NE tickets - we are still using 7 year old NE tickets with the waterpark option. We have not had to get new tickets - as far back as 7 years, the finger prints are on the tickets.

We have non-expiring tickets that we are saving for future use. We bought APs (with DVC discount) late last November with the intention of using them for several trips over the course of the year. NE tickets are $ in the bank as far as I'm concerned. Prices are always going to go up.

Agree with others - buy new passes for this trip if you can swing it and save those non-expiring ones for a rainy day. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone!! I pretty much decided to get new tickets as I was writing the OP. There were just too many pros! I'm leaning away from APs mainly because I'm pregnant and our next trip is pretty much set for November of 2013 to celebrate DS's 4th birthday and the new baby will be just over 1 year then too!
Add in the 2 days at universal and I think we will only use 7 days at the most but I'm only getting 6 day tickets and will add on if needed, with the park hopper they are $307 (from undercover tourist) This is our first trip during the summer and we are trying to take it easy but I think using the extra day or two to only spend a little extra time in the parks in the evening is a good way to slow down. That way on those actuall park days we can call it quits earlier and not worry if we didn't make the fireworks. This way we will still all have those 5 days to use together rather than just DD.

Again thanks

P.s. we used our NE tickets in December and didn't need to get new ones. They had the fingerprint on them.

Sounds like you made a great decision. One thing to keep in mind also is that your NE tickets become VERY VALUABLE if you decide to zip down for a short trip. My wife and I often go down for F&W for just two days. We bought a 10 day NE ticket years ago and it saves us a bundle over having to purchase a 2 day ticket every year.

I used a non-exiring admission ticket last year that had been purchased six years ago. Felt like I had free admission, since today's price for admission is so much higher.

Problem now, is that there's no days left on the ticket, what a bummer.....

Its my understanding that one can't add that [11th] day on. I've been looking at that since we'll be coming from Hawaii, flying for a minimum of 10 hours each way, will only be visiting the Florida parks once in the next several years, but want 11 day park hoppers.

I bought 10-day MYW hoppers (expiring) to be used over a 14 day period, but I've read (on here and the WDW site) that as a U.S. resident I can't buy more than 10 days without getting an A.P. I guess we're just going to spend the last day as either a resort hopping day or perhaps buy the WP and more addition and if its warm enough go to a water park or if not maybe Disney Quest. Would love it if I could buy the 11th day; upgrading to an AP wouldn't be worth it for us. (I think.)

If you know of a way to add on the 11th day, that would be great, please share!
