Saturday Stroll around Disney's Polynesian Village Resort | Walt Disney World

I want to stay at the a Poly so bad! I love all things tropical and tiki. I'm so poor though, :guilty:.

Keep dreaming and hopefully you'll get to stay there some day. We used to stay at the All-Stars or POP then we'd move to a deluxe for the last day or two. Now we have DVC and we are very fortunate that we will be staying in a Poly bungalow next week- probably a once in a life time thing and I can't wait! Hang in there -I hope you get to stay there soon!

And thanks *Nikkibell* for the video. I'm too excited and distracted to focus on work!

Oh my gosh - how AWESOME for you! Enjoy, enjoy, ENJOY!!!! :wizard:

Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to stay at the Poly, but it's a bit beyond my price range. This year, we're staying on site for the very first time at CBR. It has a tropical feel to it at least! We'll be doing the Spirit of Aloha show one evening though. We plan on getting there a little early, strolling around, visiting the gift store, and maybe visiting Trader Sam's. It will almost feel like we're staying there at least for one evening!
The evening stroll video was a nice peek to what awaits. :)

And personally, I very much enjoy watching the MK fireworks from the beach at the Poly! :)

I'd love to see the fireworks or the Electric Water Parade from there. Do you happen to know if the luau has an intermission while either of these are going on?

The last time I did the luau was about 7 years ago, and it did not have an intermission for this, but I believe I planned accordingly time wise. Most of the times, I just go to the Poly beach an hour or so before the fireworks are set to begin, and if I don't get a seat on the beach by the boat dock, I get one on the benches on the dock (option if you get there early enough). I've heard you can also watch on the beach by where the luau takes place, but have never done this personally.

Great Saturday Stroll Video! To the PPs concerned about the price of the Poly, go visit a few times while staying at a Value or Mod. Check out Trader Sam's and/or Kona. Take the same walk as in the video. If you want to check out inside the room buildings, do it. They were unlocked last Fall & I did a little tour around and peeked in the rooms while mousekeeping was working away. Many of us spend 99% of our time in the parks or at Dis Springs anyway. But no reason why you can't go & enjoy & soak up the Poly atmosphere on your day off or one evening. :-)

TOTALLY agree, Sam. Poly is another place (AKL and WL too, if not POFQ or OKW also) I try to get to at least once a trip, to enjoy the atmosphere, as you rightly stated. And peeking in any rooms with the door and/or curtains open - we must be right behind each other, I'll turn around and look for you the next time!! LOL

Ha! If we double-downed on the peeking we would probably weird out mousekeeping & find ourselves escorted off the premises by security. Maybe they'd at least be cute security? Always looking for the silver lining. :D
