Saturday report from the fort

Thanks for all the kind words! Here is Day 2, short but oh well...

We got everything packed and out to the overflow parking we went. Man! it was full. DH squeezed into a spot and we headed off to MGM, oops, Hollywood Studios. It was already getting dark outside at noontime, so we headed for a table over by Tower of Terror for a little bite to eat. The downpours started from there...We ate under cover and ran over to Playhouse Disney for DS4. I really liked the new show and it was packed because of the rain. We actually tried to get back in the show later on and couldn't! DS4 just loved it and tried to jump on DH, me and most of the people around us! There is nothing like toddler tennis shoes to leave welts on your thighs!

We knew the rain was going to come in a hurry, as DH looked on this lady's Blackberry and peeked at the radar. Holly Cow, is it raining now on the turnpike! I think we are doing 40mph max! We went on the animation tour, and got to see the upcoming movies from Pixar. I haven't done any research on the BOLT! movie Disney is coming out this year, so if you know what it is, please let me know.

After the animation tour, DS4 wanted to go back to PHDisney, but the line was sooo long and the rain was coming down! We stood under the awning in front of the animation gallery (which is a place I spend way too much money in and saw something else i really "needed") and were talking to this asian guy about the rain, when this teenager stops in front of us and pukes his head out! That made my lunch want to exit as well. To make matters worse, the little sparrows thought it was appetizing and took off with the chunks.:scared1: It was at this time, that both of us (my family and the asian guy's family) decided that the place we had picked out was no longer a happy place! We saw the skies get darker as we left and took the bus back to FW to the overflow parking lot. That was about it. I don't want to go to work tomorrow and I don't want to go home. However, I must go and make more money so I can return on Memorial Day!

A picture (right before the teenager visited us) at Hollywood Studios...

Here is the rain from the rv in the overflow parking lot...

Here is DS4 with Leo from the Little Einsteins...notice the guy in the background...this was taken at noon....dad havin too much fun the night before...makes you wonder..:lmao:

That's a great report Jen. It seems you arrived the day we left like last trip lol. I hate when things like the vomit incident happen. We saw it happen in the walkway up to Space Mountain (the stand by) and along came a CM with kitty litter quickly. The fort needed the rain so I guess it's good it got some.

Yep... always has been & always will be the "Wed-Way Peoplemover" in my book!! The only ride at the MK guaranteed no wait!

Jen - Your boys are adorable!!! (DH & DS - yes, DH's revert to little boys at WDW!!)

I'm sorry for all the rain, but even a rainy day at WDW is better than a perfect day at work!!:thumbsup2

along came a CM with kitty litter quickly.

Donnie - They call that stuff "Vo-Mat",,,, for real!!! And in WDW lingo, it's not puke or vomit (or even hurling) but a "protein spill". Isn't that clever?

Yeah, we do need the rain - but I'm sorry for the people that spend the big bucks for a WDW vacation just the same.

BTW Jen - I was reading your "hurling" experience to my DH.... who is still LHAO at the sparrows and no longer being in a "happy place"!!! You're a great story teller!

heck, even I call it the wdway people mover. They tell me the record is like 6 hours for riding it non-stop.

Nope, it's longer than that. About 3 or 4 years ago, a group of folks from rec.arts.disney.parks rode it from opening to close (although I'm not sure if all of them stayed on it all day, potty breaks you know.). But the park was open from 9am to 7pm and there was a total of 57 laps made. I'll search the archives and see if anybody did stay on all day.

Oops, I was incorrect, it was 50 laps: 12/13/2000

Here is the post of the group totals.

Jeff - 50 Laps
Julie - 50 Laps
Richie - 50 Laps
Kenny - 40 Laps
Brian - 37 Laps
Rob - 34 Laps

And about 26 other people stopped by for other amounts (Julie - post
the list)

RADP'ers did a total of 411 laps of the TTA on 12/13 and the top 4
were presented with certificates marking the achievement by Disney
Cast. We also had at least 4 different groups of people who stayed on
our train for a second lap around because they enjoyed riding so much.
Also, not a single complaint was recieved by Disney management or TTA
CM's. We also invented our own version of an interactive script.

1. When shirley is working the platform (Either unload or load) start
clapping

<clap> <clap> shirley! and repeat

2. When passing alien encounter rythymically clap to any odd country
you can think of, imitating a brazilian tour group (Kazakhstan seemed
to be a favorite)

3. When passing speedway, yell and wave at back bridge CM until they
wave back (Repeat exiting space mountain)

4. When the overhead voice says "presented by federal express" the
group leader says "By Who?" and everyone yells "Federal Express"

5. When approaching COP, start singing there's a great big beautiful
tomorrow

6. Inside buzz lightyear - when announcement says "Zurg", leader says
"Who?" Everyone says "Zurg", when announcement says "Buzz Lightyear's
Space Ranger Spin" Leader says "His what?" Everyone repeats - "His
Space Ranger Spin"

7. When announcer says "A time machine"
Leader: A What?
Everyone: A Time Machine!
L: A What?
E: A Time Machine!
A: Take you through time
L: Where?
E: Through Time!
L: Where?
E: Through Time!
L: A What?
E: A TIME MACHINE!!!!

And again, check the platform to see if shirley is working :)

Finally, on the last trip, to the tune of Camptown Races - we sang

We've Been Riding all day long - do dah do dah
We've been riding all day long - all the do dah day
Gonna Ride all night, Gonna ride all day
I think we've all gone insane, on the TTA

Tiggerfan
Successfully rode car 25 for 50 laps on 12/13 :)

Also, was the first person known to have his engagement announced on
the TTA ride PA system so that all of tomorrowland could hear.

Wow...thats Like a very family edited Rocky Horror Picture Show!!!!

I'll not comment on the folks and the WDWpeoplemover.

It was great to meet you in person Jen! I wish I had been able to meet up with some of the other Dis'ers as well! The only other person I have met in real life (besides my family members that are on here of course<g>) was Stacktester last 4th of July.

The weather at FW was ROUGH last night....we were only visiting M-S Jaxjag for a few hours to hang out at the pool and ended up spending the night in her camper because it was too narty to get on the road home. Good size hail was coming down while we were eating at Trail's End.

Thanks for the report! Sorry about the rain and the vomit, but otherwise sounds like a great trip! :goodvibes

Your family looks so sweet!

LOL, that's exactly what I was thinking! What a riot!

And, for the record, my DS4 knows it only as the People Mover as well...gotta teach the young 'uns the *real* name ;)

Teresa, I didn't know there was hail at the fort! I knew y'all had gone to Trail's
end but didn't know about the other stuff. The weather yesterday going home was so awful. I was so great meeting you and your sis! I look forward to seeing both of you at the 4th.

Jen- I'm sorry you had to deal with all that rain...it looks like it was really coming down a couple of times !! I'm glad you didn't let it stop you though. :thumbsup2
