Saturday Night Live 4/15 - Disney got burned!

I thought is was pretty funny (and sick), but I was wondering about copyright violations. Do they have to get permission to show the images?

Boy I'm glad I watched it on youtube last night before it got yanked. I even had it bookmarked.
I love disney, obviously, but there are things to make fun of in anything--yes, anything. The whole "vault" concept was great, esp. things like "Hunchback of Notre Dame 6, Air Dog Quasi". There were so many targets in that parody any one of them could have cried "copyright infringement'.
The only thing that really shocked me was the sequel they called "101 Fellations". When I showed the skit to DH he couldn't believe it either. They could have left that one out.

I thought it was pretty funnly, actually. A few "I can't believe they said that" moments, to be sure.

Hi-freaking-sterical! Dh and I laughed with our jaws on the floor. SNL...equal opportunity trashers for sure! I love that show. TV Funhouse is usually our favorite part.

What, pray tell, would make you think SNL was jealous of Disney???? SNL digs at everyone, everything, without mercy, all the time. It was dang funny IMHO, but naturally I understand that not everybody has the same sense of humor.

I always love those TV Funhouse skits, and this was no exception. The rest of the SNL show pretty much stunk as usual lately, except for this skit. Walt's disembodied head was disturbing, but dark humor like that always makes me laugh. It's a very macabre subject to begin with. It's not like SNL made that part up. The different sequels with the stupid premises cracked me up, especially the 101 Youknowwhats. lol

Perhaps the topper in the skit was how Mickey kept getting more and more embarassed during the skit.

Except for the fake Medicare ad a few weeks back, this is the funniest thing SNL has had this year, IMHO.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
That was great!
Just watched the Bambi 2002 clip and thought it was hysterical :lmao: ---wish I would have seen the rest of the show!

It's NBC's copyright that was violated by the posting on YouTube. SNL has cried foul before and had videos removed. I'm sure that it was their lawyers and not Disney's that had the video pulled.

What about NBC showing Disney clips? Is that not under copyright?

It's a satire. As long as it is clear it is done in a satirical manner, it is usually allowed.
