Hi gang-
My family is heading down on Saturday, 9/24. The group will be me, DH, DD2, DD4, Sister, BIL, and my parents. I've booked Sunday - Thursday in a dedicated 2-bedroom at BCV. My sister and her husband are arriving on Sunday, so the first night, it will just be the 4 of us and my parents. I've been agonizing over where to stay that Saturday night. I'm torn between borrowing the additional 60 points and just spending Saturday at the BC vs. waiting for an AP rate and getting 2 rooms at AKL or WL. Ideally, I'd just book the BCV dedicated 2-bedroom and cancel it if AP rates come out, but since I have to borrow the points and its near the end of my UY, I can't really just cancel it. I really want to wait to see if AP rates come out; however, I'm afraid if I wait and can't get what I want, I won't be able to get the dedicated 2-bedroom at BCV for that night. Anyone else ever face this dilemma? What would you guys do?

Thanks!
Leslie

just mo, but i'd save the points

If your worried about not having a place to stay for Saturday nite
why not book your reservations for either of those resorts, and when the ap rates come out, change the reservations.

I hate to move, so I would just stay in the 2 bedroom if you know you have it and bite the bullet on the points. You will need at least a 2 bedroom anyway with 6 people.

I would vote to stay at the BCV that night. This is a vacation, and switching resorts after one night, with two littleones, seems a little to high stress for me... I like to settle in and set up house.....

Another option is to change your reservation to a regular 2 bedroom (1 queen 1 pullout) and then pay cash for the Saturday night, that way you dont have to move and dont have to borrow..... (I have heard you cant book a dedicated 2 queen on cash)

Keep us posted!

I'd borrow the points and book the Saturday at the BCV in the same category so I don't have to change rooms.

If the AP rate comes out, I'd cancel the Saturday night and ask MS to reallocate the points so that the borrowed points are used for the reservation. Then the points returned to my account would be current year points. Assuming that I were still within my banking deadlines, I'd just bank the 60 "current use year" points.

Best wishes -

P.S. The 25% banking window is the end of the 10th month following the beginning of the use year, and the 50% window is the end of the 9th month.
