We woke early and eager to start our first day in the parks. I forgot to mention that we took a Monorail trip to MK the day before just to get my & DGD's APs. I thought there might be a line at the ticket stand this morning, but there wasn't. We did the character breakfast at Ohana. It was a lot of fun, but DGD didn't eat a bite...she never does at character meals. Chip was acting like he was mad at Skye because she didn't have a pin of him on her lanyard. He took her paper drink cup and started drawing mean frown eyebrows on Mickey. It was too funny. Of course Skye had to get a Chip pin and show it to him later in the trip. After breakfast, we hoped on the Monorail...got to sit in the front...and headed to MK.
In October, we did MK on a Saturday morning/afternoon and was able to walk on everything. I didn't know how it would go in the busier summer months but we like to do MK first.... Well, it was a piece of cake this time too. We rode Splash (2x), BTMRR(2x), PoC, JC, TikiRoom, and shopped around a bit before we headed out at around 1:00 after lunch at Pecos Bill's. It started pouring the rain while we were there though, but we put on our $1 ponchos from home and went with it. Our plan was to go back to the Poly and enjoy the resort/pools etc., but with the rain we decided to head to Epcot and knock out some of Future World instead.
Since we weren't in a hurry, Skye was having a field day pin trading with the CM's. I think she'd rather pin trade than ride the coasters. She had $120 she (read we) had saved for the trip so she had $20 a day to spend. She always spends most of her money on pins but, this trip she bought other stuff too. Some of the Future World stuff I hadn't done in years and it was the first time for Skye & Lynn. We did stuff that I'd skipped before because I didn't think Skye would like it...The Land, etc. We pretty much did all of the right side of Future World and a little bit of Innoventions before it was time for our PS at Le Cellier. Everyone loved thier meal here. Afterwards, we enjoyed the movie in Canada & browsed UK. After that big meal and all day touring we were getting pretty tired. I had planned on us seeing Illuminations that night, but we decided to head back to the Poly so Skye could swim one more time in the Volcano Pool. After the swim, we packed up a bit for our move to BWV the next day. A good but wet day.
