Saturday in August at Universal Studios?

We are going for a last minute off-site trip this Friday (to next Friday). I'm checking a few crowd calendars which seem to suggest we should do US this Saturday (so August 1st) rather than any other day that week. It seems the crowd numbers go up on Sunday and then even more so during the week. And the express pass is cheaper on Saturday too. Am I understanding this correctly? I'd think we'd want to avoid all parks on the weekend.
