I tentatively have planned for us to tour MK on Saturday, October 1 (the first full day of our trip). In the past, I have always avoided MK on a Saturday, but the Unofficial Guide this year says Saturday is a good day to go. What do you guys think?

If you are so, am I! We're going the Saturday of Labor Day weekend :earseek: It's our first day in the World and the MK is part of the first day magic to us so we're going to try it.

We were at MK the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We got there at rope drop and had a touring plan, and saw everything we wanted to see with minimal waits. We had a 1:45 pm lunch PS at CRT; we did a few things after lunch, and left at about 3 or 3:30. I didn't think it was too crowded at all.

We took the 7:30 am bus from YC - we thought we had missed the bus because we got down to the bus stop at about 7:30 and no bus was there. It turns out that someone had called in sick and the floater driver got there at 7:50. ANYWAY, we were the only ones on the bus to MK!

Considering that you are not going at a really busy time of the year at WDW, I would think Sat's won't be too much of an issue. I would definitely go for it.

We were at MK two Saturdays in May -- one at night, when it had just finished storming and the park was practically empty, and the other during the afternoon of Memorial Day Weekend. We did not find the crowds to be that bad at all. If you plan wisely and get there early, you can get a lot done before lunchtime/early afternoon.

Have fun!

When we went on a Saturday during our September trip it was absolutely packed - things may have changed but I think I've read that more locals go on Saturdays during the non-summer months...

Lacy1101, see you there! That is our first day at WDW too & are starting it off with MK & Chef Mickeys! October is not as crowded as some other summer or holiday times but do have a plan since October has become more popular & also with the added incentive of the dining plan still in effect the first week of Oct, the crowds may be up, but do not let that deter you.

Just to let you know our plan is to ride the less popular rides that day (since we probably won't get there until noon or so). We can attack the more popular rides on another full day.

we will be arriving at por on oct 1. our plan was epcot-sun, mk-mon, ak-tues. this is our first trip. do you think this plan is ok? i'd appreciate your advice. thanks

We did MK on June 11. It wasnt that bad, we pretty much followed the Unofficial Guide to the letter on what days to go and it really worked out well for us.

we went for our first trip in sept 2003, and we did epcot on sunday, mk on monday, ak on tuesday, and mgm on wednesday, and it was great in all of the parks. the longest we waited in a line anywhere was 10 minutes if that, and they did not have any fast pass machines on cause the wait time was just fine. this even included being in lines for characters, and mk, since we have two kids, it was pretty good. we do not do the early mornings, we do one of the other parks for that day, so i personally would stick with what you have for your days. it just depends on if you want to do the early mornings or not.

have fun, have a great time, and have plenty of film and batteries cause it is expensive at the parks,

We will be in MK on Sat Aug 6th!!! It's DD's 11th Birthday. I was late calling for PS's because my 90 day mark was mothers day. Anyway, I got breakfast at CRT 8:05, Lunch at LTT 1:00 and Dinner at CM 6:30. The CM said they were wide open. I trust the UG! I found them to be quite accurate in most cases. If you see us, say Hi (and Happy Birthday to DD ;) ). Here's a pic of our Mickey head :cheer2:

Since the Early Magic Hours were changed earlier this year, the busy days changed. When we went in April, we went to MK on Saturday, after Friday EMH day, and we hardly had to wait for anything. It was great!
