My son is working 8-5 Saturday morning. Looking for suggestions on how to spend my day until he gets done. I am not someone who can sit around a pool for more than about 15 minutes, I need to be out and about. Son and I will spend Father's Day at Magic Kingdom so looking for a non theme park activity. I will have a rental car but assume I should be able to find something to occupy my time on the WDW property.

So what would you do with a free day?

Making a trip June 17-19 to WDW on short notice to visit my son who is interning as a CM/lifeguard this summer. Staying at the All Star Sports hotel. Main goal of the trip is to spend time with him but a little fun for me when he is working would be good too.

You can always spend some time at DTD and maybe catch a movie. Try out the putt-putt golf courses at Summer/Winter golf over next to BB or the courses by the Swan/Dolphon Resorts. If you do not mind driving a little off property you can speed a good time at the Gaylord Palms Resort, it has a fort, mini-Key West, and Everglads under a glass roof along with several resturants.

I like to take a grand transportation tour. Take the bus to MK, ride the monorail to the resorts along that track and take a look around in stores, lobbies, etc. Go back to MK and take the boat somewhere. Wilderness Lodge has a cool lobby area. AKL also has some really neat things to look at.

If you get to Wilderness Lodge by 9 AM you can take a really cool tour that points out some of the history and art in the structures. There are also lots of places on property to rent bikes (boardwalk and OKW for example) and just ride around.

you can go over to the animal kingdom loge and check out the animals resort hop take the ferry's,buses, monorail or go to downtown Disney and shop

Lightning Friday night meant my son got off work early and was able to join me for dinner at Flying Fish. He was a able to get someone to cover his shift Saturday so I am getting an early Fathers Day with my son at Magic Kingdom. Reliving memories and making new ones.

Water Park.... Lazy river.

If my kid is working I am not sure if he would save my life. I know that he would laugh at me as I floated by.
