Sat or Tues for one day visit in Jan - does it make a difference?

We are DVC members going to Disney the last week of January - we have a guest who wants to do one day at Universal just for HP. Our choices for the day to visit Universal are Saturday or Tuesday. The problem with Tuesday is that the guest's plane leaves MCO at 8pm that evening, but I'm concerned that Saturday would be much more crowded. Would that make a big difference if we get an Express Pass? Is it crazy just to go for one day anyway? TIA for any advice.

If you do it on Tuesday, the person would have to leave the park by 4 probably.

How many people will you have?

I recommend just booking one of the top three hotels that gives express pass and splitting the cost for the room between everyone. You don't have to actually stay there.

It is be much cheaper than buying express pass as I stand alone and then you will not have to be worrying about crowd levels on Sat.

Hi I agree with pp about getting the one deluxe room and splitting it. I think Saturday would be better this way you don't have to rush. You really want to have the express pass for visiting just one day. The crowds could be a little heavier depending when you go due to the Brazilian tour groups go in January.

You can just go check in get your passes and that is it. We did this last year. We got a room at Royal Pacific one night to get the express pass. We checked in at 7 am got our stuff and went to the park. We did go to the room for a bit in the afternoon to relax. We left and went back to Cabana Bay where we were sleeping. You can use the room or not.

Enjoy HP worlds love Universal!

If weather is good on that Saturday, I would expect more locals in the parks

Weekends tend to have more visit the parks than weekdays

Go on a Saturday. You want a full day. Tickets aren't cheap and there's a lot to see! Couldn't another day be used? Like Monday? You've probably done Disney often enough that it wouldn't hurt to make a Disney day shorter on Tuesday. :) (this is all moot if you're talking about MLK Jr. weekend- if that's the case just get express passes and do Saturday). Agree with doing the math on a throw away room.

Thanks For your replies - wow is one day pricey. Unless I’m wrong - looking at $900 for tickets and ep for 3. Now We are looking at doing a separate trip And staying on site for two or three days.
