Good afternoon Sassies! It has rained here all day long. We have another sink hole forming in the front yard, good thing we still have some fill left from the one in July.

Heather update: she says she can't get calls in or out, but they are fine. Power has flickered so hopefully it will be back on soon. Minimul damage at her house. Sounds like good news to me!

Brian said last night people were panicking and lining up for gas. He saw cars 40 deep in Kalamazoo. He actually needed gas and got it at our exit for $3.88 then it went up to $4.08 as he was pumping. I guess the governor has said if you see 4-5 dollar gas to let her office know because it's gouging. I haven't been out since Thursday myself.

Judi - the black dots are moving around! I can't keep track of them - does this happen to everyone or have I had one margarita too many?

Angie - I keep forgetting to answer your question about the White Spot. It is a UVA favorite, located in the "Corner" district of the grounds. Quite a hole in the wall, but famous for the "Gusburger" which is a huge cheeseburger topped with a fried egg. Very commonly eaten after a night of hard drinking, and a staple item to finish off the "Corner crawl" (where you have a drink from each bar on the Corner - about 12 in all - and then snarf down a Gusburger and hope it doesn't come back out). Now, if you ask just about anyone who has just finished the Corner Crawl if they thought that Gusburger was tasty, they will probably give you an emphatic "No!". But, when eaten sober, they are quite a tasty treat! In fact, I just asked Mr. FofP if he was a Gusburger fan and he said "No" but then I reminded him he had never eaten one sober so he should give it another try! Maybe that will be tomorrow's project.

Speaking of UVA, they are stinking it up on the football field against UConn tonight. Would it be bad form for the team to leave at halftime, citing the need to return home and practice a bit more before coming out to play?

BONNIE!!! Hope you had a great bday-- did you get a purse? 'Cause I can vouch for the decrepit state of the Field Museum bag. Saw it yesterday, and it looked liked it had been savaged by a wild tiger!

Heather-- I'm so happy that y'all escaped relatively easily. I'm sure it was a terrifying couple of days!

Anyway, looks like I'll be heading to Ohio on Wed. Funeral should be Thurs or Friday. My SIL is going to come down from West Virginia to watch the boys for me-- they're just too young for funerals.

Oh yeah, Day 1 of Nutri System went well. I am actually really full from dinner! (had their spinach cheese ravioli, plus steamed broccoli and half of a nectarine. Also had one of their cookies for dessert.)

Judi, the cocktail was yummy. The black dots keep moving, maybe I should have counted them before partaking in the rita. Brian just got home and the neighbor called. His window well is full and water is pouring into their basement. Glad we don't have window wells, our windows are above ground in the basement.

Wilma, have you started a business plan for our video business yet?

Shannon, I hope she goes to jail for a long time and your brothers get to tell her exactly what they think of her. I agree about the boys being too young for funerals, I scarred mine by taking them to my cousins visitation. They were really close to her and her daughters and both wanted to go. Justin still talks about it and it was over a year ago.

Hey, thanks for all the birthday wishes!! You hags, rock!

It was a nice day, save it be for my wankery husband. But we finally just flew the coop and left his mean **** at home. We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then went to the Coach store where I finally purchased a purse!! It is lavendar-y and leather-y. No C's! But I might save up and swap it in for a purple patchwork one that is more expensive, I'm not sure. It was fun shopping in there though! Thanks so much for the COACH gift card, Hag!! I really loved spending it! Afterward I got my nails done and a pedi and lip/eyebrow wax. Came home and had cake (which heather made) and ice cream. We were gonna go to dinner but I was way too full and did not feel like it .


I am watching the Ike-y goings-on and it is scary. i am so glad our Sassy friends are safe!!
