I've been so busy, I mostly just read threads now.

Pumpkin time!

The girls and I went crazy and decorated a pumpkin as Cindy's castle, complete with multi-changing color light inside! (some of the pumpkin light pics are blury, but you get the gist!)

Here we are carving...

Thank you; I believe things are calming down again, but with 7 people in one little immediate family there's always bound to be SOMETHING chaotic going on!

I told you I had a lot of updates to make up for...

Last night was our weekly Disney movie night leading up to our trip. And while some weekends fly by unnoticed because there's just too much to do, we DO try to make the dinner and a movie thing happen when we can.

Last night we were not feeling the movie thing (nobody could decide on what they wanted to watch) so it was dinner night instead. And because I'm still getting back into the swing of things I also completely spaced taking pictures!

Chicken and Leek Pie (a la Rose and Crown)
Bread and Honey Butter (a new family favorite!)
Pineapple Upside Down Cheesecake (a la Boma)

I wish I could pluck the memories in my noggin and show them to you all, but alas, I cannot. Suffice it to say the pie was DELISH, and the cheesecake was SO RICH that even with 6 of us eating dinner there's still more than half the thing left. CRAZY GOOD.

...and because I love you all so much I just went to the fridge and snapped a quick pic of what's left of that cheesecake...

I'm glad you like them! They were a great alternative to the ever present toothy smile we always carve!

Awe... Our girls LOVED standing on the porch watching the colors change, too- we got the color changey thingy at Wal Mart in their Halloween costume and decor section! I'm sure they have them elsewhere but I haven't seen them...

Y'all plan on being here Saturday night, m'kay? We're having a big Halloween to-do, to celebrate Tatiana's 10th birthday (on the 23rd o-fficially) and just to have some much needed FUN all around. Alice in Wonderland themed! We're 'blacking out' the walls with black plastic and glow in the dark spray to emulate that bizarre Tulgey Wood look... my friend in Saudi Arabia even sent a real honest to God hookah so everyone who wishes to can take a turn at being the caterpillar! I'm not cooking much for this one though - mostly sweets, and I've got a ton of jars and such filled with candy so we'll have a candy 'bar' and a real 'bar' for those who're so inclined!

Here's some of the candy we've already started organizing:

I've had so much going on in my 3D world that I haven't had time to update for weeks...

That darn 3-D world (NOWorld). SO overwhelming. I can totally relate. I'm so grossly behind on my TR it's ridiculous.

So when I say my cup runneth over, I MEAN my cup runneth the heck over!

Well. As long as its not your LapuLapu running over. Because that would SO be alcohol abuse.

I'm trying to make sure the kids all have memorable birthdays, for sure! I forgot to mention that, true to my family's oddball form, Tatiana is dressing as MALICE in Wonderland- she's got the Alice costume but she'll look darker, more MALICIOUS if you will. Crazy kids.

You think I am kidding. When the middle-aged woman pulls up in her mini-van wearing her Alice dress that shows off all my cellulite because it's so short, I hope you won't be shocked.

Golly, that is one fantastical Disneylicious pumpkin!! Tatiana's birthday is only a few days from Jake's (this coming Saturday)! I love the idea of the candy bar Hope we get to see photos from the celebration (for Jake we'll be going camping that weekend, then a Laser Tag party the following weekend - btw he invited the entire second grade! )

I kept a few pieces out for the kids as bribery - er, 'treats'... and frankly I'm so sick of seeing candy around the house come this time each year I have no problem steering clear of it! Now give me a nice loaf of fresh sourdough bread and I'm in trouble...

ACK! Tatiana tried that once as well, inviting the whole school bus AND her class AND the Girl Scout Troop... I wanted to auction her off on eBay!

And how cool that she and Jake have birthdays so close! She used to hate it being so near Halloween but now she gets the cool factor.
