Hi there!

DH and I are booked for the first time at SSR. We've never stayed here because the size and location didn't really appeal to us. However with all the new things to do at Disney Springs, we thought it would be time to give it a try! From the research i've done, there seem to be pros and cons to each building. Based on the following, which building would you suggest for us and why?

-2 Adults, no kids
-Never stayed at SSR
-No car rental, only using Uber and Disney transportation
-Looking to spend time at Disney Springs, so close to the walking path
-Time of year is early March
-Love a good view for morning coffee on a Disney resort Balcony

TIA! :cutie:

Congress park. With the right room you could have a view of Disney springs. It is close to the walking path to Disney springs. It is only about a 10 minute walk to the main house. and even though it is a smoking section and I don't smoke. There is a spot along the walkway in front of the quiet pool in congress park. That has rocking chairs again it's a smoking section. I love to sit there put my feet up and rock. Sometimes read w a cup of tea, soda or a good drink. Sometimes it a great place to drink and think and stare off into space. Yes maybe the resort is bigger yes it is further away from the parks but me personally that is what I love about ssr. I love after a day at the parks that I can come back to such a relaxing place. Yet I have all the conveniences of Disney. And even better ssr has more restaurant options within walking distance than any other resort because you can walk to Disney springs

I would also recommend Congress Park. We stayed here in September and had a view overlooking Disney Springs and the quiet pool. The bus stop was nearby and it was less than 5 minutes to walk to the Springs pool and shops/restaurants at SSR.

We walked over to DS 4 times and it was great!!

There is a designated smoking area in Congress Park, but the whole Congress Park is NOT a smoking area.

Thank you all for your input!! Sounds like congress park is the way to go!

Any other tips or pieces of advice for staying at SSR?

Sure.....turf club.....it is the sit down table service meal at the resort. In my opinion it's a hidden gem. I love it. And I love sitting outside if I can get a table.

we stayed at SSR and in congress park, was great for getting to disney spirngs, in fact i think it was quicker to get to disney springs than the lobby, its a stunning resort, just very big. and the turf club was one of my fav meals of the holiday, i had the new york strip in there and was the best steak i had all holiday.

Thank you both for the feedback! I appreciate it.

We will definitely have to check out the turf club.

Are you staying on points or cash? When is your stay? If you are staying Jan 1 forward, Congress Park is considered Preferred (along with the Springs). Paddock, Grandstand and Carousel are all considered standard. Preferred will be more than standard.

I'm staying on Points and we will be there the beginning of March.

If you aren't booked preferred, Springs and Congress Park aren't options. If you're booked Standard, and being closer to Disney Springs isn't the priority, ask for Paddock, near the bridge. Puts you at a feature pool, with easy access to the Carriage House area by bridge, and you're near a bus stop, a playground and the laundry.

Otherwise, ask for the south side of Paddock. It's away from the pool, but closer to DS.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the help :)
