I wanted to know if anyone has recently gotten a taxi roundtrip to the Publix supermarket from Saratoga Springs. We have a good bit of groceries to buy and will not have a rental car.

Also, how far is it to Publix? timewise?

The one we use is on South International Drive just before Rt 192. I wouldn't think it would much over $10 cab fare and maybe a 10 min ride from SSR.
There may be other supermarkets closer to SSR, maybe someone else will have additional ideas.

I just spoke to Saratoga Springs and they said they use Yellow Cab... well, I called them and they said $15-20 each way. That's $30-40 roundtrip BEFORE tip. Holy smokes, that's a lot of mula for a 3 min cab ride.

I went through this last year when we went on our first trip without a car. We ended up using gardengrocer.com and they were great. We called several times for extra deliveries during our trip and they came though every time - even with the threat of a hurricane brewing.

When they first arrived - we were in AK and they left everything with bell services - worked out great.

We were just at SSR on August 4-11th. We had a rental car and I did go to Pulix for groceries. I took 528 to 407 to John Young Parkway, then took a right and went approx 1 mile to Publix. If I had to guess, it is about 6 miles one way. It took about 15 minutes one way. I have also used Garden Grocer and had very good luck with them. If you have a large amount of groceries, then you won't have to pay a delivery fee. I think anything over $200 is free for delivery. I am the type of person who worries about if my produce and meat and bakery items will be ok, if someone else picks them out. Garden Grocer did a great job though. The bananas, apples, meat and all bakery items were wonderful. I think, if I were you, that I would try them out, rather than pay for a cab ride. Good luck with your decision, and have a great trip!!

I too considered a cab to the grocery store but decided to try Garden Grocer. It was great--groceries were delivered on time and kept cold until I had them sent up. Worth the delivery fee ($12) and tip.

Good luck.
