Me & a friend of mine will be going to WDW 9/14-9/17. We are in our late 40's & will be doing a more laid back trip. I have a personal discount that I'm able to apply to our reservation but it's specific to these resorts: all of the All Stars, POR, SSR, & AKL. I love AKL but the price difference between POR & SSR is less than $100 for a deluxe studio. I'd love to hear your thoughts on which of these resorts you would choose.

TIA

Love both,,,POR is a mod,,but has 2 sinks for getting ready,,,would need to take bus everywhere,,boat to the Springs,,but longer boat ride, nice in the canals.
SSR, our home, little larger room, very nice with the recent upgrades, close for walking or boat to the Springs, does have a small kitchenette.
My choice would be SSR,
You can always take the boat up to POR to catch dinner there or walk around as well.

For me it would be between POR and SSR. The only downside to SSR is that someone would have to sleep on the pullout if you don't share a bed. But being able to walk to Disney Springs is great. Plus you get the benefit of being able to use the extra evening hours for the DVC resorts. If the bed situation is an issue, stay at POR.

But with the referb SSR has murphy beds,,,,not pull out couch,,,so actually nicer when you put it up during the day and have more room.

Stayed at both (Riverside... even when it was known as Dixie Landings) and like both a lot. I'd choose SSR for sure for a girls' trip due to more relaxed feeling (for me) and so close to Disney Springs. Absolutely loved the boat ride to Riverside, French Q and OKW....plus Disney Springs when not walking.

And this is coming from someone who refused to stay at SSR for the past 10 years of DVC membership.
I now regret that after staying there last month. It's actually very pretty. Liked it very much.
