I am going to Orlando on 6th Dec for 3 weeks. Currently have 1st 10 nights at Bonnet Creek in a 2 bed and moving onto the Hilton on 17th for anothe 10 nights in a 1 bed. We stayed at SSR last Xmas and loved it but prices are crazy this year as no discounts. However if I was able to rent points I could stay here for about $1000 more than what I am paying at the Hilton. Having never stayed at the Hilton, was wondering if there was anyone out there who had an opinion as to whether SSR is worth the extra $$$.
Thanks

We have stayed at SSR and loved it, but I would not pay an extra $1,000 to stay there. I have read many nice reviews on the Hilton Vacation Club properties, so I think you'll be happy with what you already have arranged.

What's your plan for the 3 weeks? Only Disney? Bonnet Creek and SSR are both obviously very convenient to Disney. But if you also plan to visit the Universal parks, it's a good 25 minute drive, longer during the Christmas holiday period. Sea World is at least 15 minutes away. However, it's only 5 minutes from HGVC Int'l Drive. So, if you plan to visit these other parks, it'd probably be helpful to spend part of your trip over that way.

the complaints I have heard are not about the resort - but about the mall in its backyard.

now if you like to shop this won't be a problem for you.

also would ask for a building not near the construction.

the resort is a HGVC and probably a little better than the DVC resort. Yea I own at a DVC resort - but a HGVC is a Hilton and all that implies.
