Hi all, we arrive 3rd July. Anybody there now that can help...
We know refurb is ongoing. We have a studio booked. Is Congress Park complete ? Is Grandstand a good alternative ? We would like to have reasonable access to DTD. Not too bothered about proximity to bus (will only use for MK only I think - other posts seem to indicate best option for using car for others). We are party of thee, me , DT and DD (age 12) - any tips gratefully received. Is the bus a good option for Typhoon Lagoon ?
Sorry for all the questions - first time at SSR.
Thanks.

The Building you would most likely like the best would be the Springs. It is one of the closest buildings to the main area - restaurants, spa, shop, the first main pool and of course the bus stop.

One of the referbs was the new Paddock pool. Its over the bridge and is a great alternative from the other pool. We used both the last time we stayed there and loved it.

I'm not sure is the referb is still going on at Congress but I think everything is done.

Enjoy SSR!!! - You will LOVE it!!!!!! :wizard:

You might want to also check over on the DVC board; since SSR is a DVC property. They may have more information.

Thanks guys. I've checked on DVC forums and there is some "soft refurb" work ongoing. As at mid June work was still on in Congress Park and then moving onto Springs so although it's not building work as such there is still alot of trucks on the move and workmen making over rooms. So I decided not to go for Springs.
I'm just trying to find out what the latest is before I put in a request for room location. We are so excited just not really wanting to be in the middle of room refurbs ....

Congress Park rehab is suppose to be finished by the end of June, then Springs will be next.

So to completely avoid it, I would ask for anything but Springs.

Grandstand is the furthest from Downtown Disney, Congress Park is the closest.

Grandstand is also the first bus on and first bus off... it's not a far walk to the main building and has a quiet pool/drink station.
