Did anyone else notice that in the Disney Magazine that Saratoga Springs will have "villas for vaction club member" and regular hotel rooms for cash reservations? That was news to me. I thought it was going to be an exlusively DVC resort, not like WL/VWL or BWI/BWV.

Also, repeated late spring 2004 as completion date.

But again, I haven't been paying too much attention.

I posted about this a few days ago, too and no one seemed to know anything. I was surprised about the mention of rooms, too. Some speculated that they were talking about the Treehouse Villas, etc.???

Do DVC members get a discount on the Disney magazine? Just wondering.

No, but I think it was free or discounted with Disney Club membership. My DC membership expired, but they just sent me a renewal notice for Disney Magazine for two years (eight issues) for $9.95. I'll get it. I like the magazine.

I saw this too and here is my guess.. I would imagine that they will open the old club lake villas (or whatever they were calling them last) and sell those as cash reservations. If SSR gets really popular they can always close them down again and expand. This is just a thought though. With all the new theming of this resort, I bet they could sell cash reservations faster at this 'new' Saratoga Springs Resort than they could before when it was just the Disney Institute with no real theming. I just can't imagine them building a brand new 'Saratoga Springs Hotel' when they still have Pop Century sitting vacant, but I could be wrong.

I read this too! Maybe it is because nonmembers can always rent a DVC room. For instance now, if the room is not being used by a member, after a certain date Disney can rent these out. So by mentioning in the magazine that it is for both members and renters would be correct. It just may be harder to get into.

That's what I thought first too, but it the article states condo accomadations and regular hotel rooms. Of course, you can't always believe what you see in print.
