So we want to go to FARTS in February and the only available rooms are at Saratoga which we have never stayed at. We will have a car so driving to Epcot is an option I just prefer not to in Disney. How difficult is it to get to Epcot from Saratoga? I have heard it’s a BIG resort.
There is preferred rooms anre available is that much of a difference in getting busses from standard? And is it worth it?
Any information/input appreciated.
I hear great things about this resort

We recently stayed there in March and loved it.

Getting to epcot is pretty easy and fairly quick, its not far by bus. Its definitely no BCV or BWV where you can just walk right back to your room, but its not bad. Actually when we did Epcot for rope drop, we took a bus to HS then rode the skyliner to epcot so we would be at the world showcase entrance as we were gunning for Remy as the first ride.

There are 5 sections in SSR, and standard vs preferred is split between them. Carousel, Grandstand, and Paddock are all standard. Springs and Congress Park are preferred. Congress is the closest to DS and its a fairly short walk. Springs is in the center of the resort so centrally located and close to the main feature pool.

Each section has its own bus stop, so no rooms is terribly far from one. We stayed in paddock and our room was right next to the pool and bus stop that is in front of it, was great.

The preferred rooms dont give you an advantage on the bus route, I dont remember the exact order but I think leaving it starts in carousel and ends with congress park and coming back it starts with congress and ends with carousel. We are a younger family and did rope drop every park day, we had the bus to ourselves at least 3 of the 4 if not all 4 mornings.

Thank you! So the preferred rooms are just location?

We stayed there in April in a standard villa and the resort is sprawling. We ended up using Lyft and Minnie Vans to get to the parks every day. The room was gorgeous but it was too big and far away from the parks for me.

Yes, preferred will either put you close to Disney Springs or close to the Carriage House / main pool. If you have a car that likely won't matter to you as you could just drive to the parking lots in either of those locations.

We always end up taking a Lyft when we stay there to the parks, but because we’d rather not have to allow for the time it takes to get on the bus and get there…it’s not bad, but it was about 40 minutes from getting to stop, getting on bus, going to all the other sections and getting to the park.

Except for Disney Springs buses, it is Grandstand -> Carousel -> Paddock -> Congress Park -> The Springs. The order would be the same coming back to the resort as it drops off as it picks up.

ETA: Disney Springs is the reverse of the above and sometimes will stop at The Springs a second time before heading to DS.

We our at SSR the last week in January for FARTS (good one). We are locals now so we drive everywhere (something we did not do as out of staters). SSR is our home resort and we love it. We booked Christmas week in CCV at the 7th month mark. But could not get into anything for FARTS but SSR at 7 months. It shocked us. We will eat at Disney Springs most evenings when we are there for the festival. Walking to Disney Springs is one of our favorite things to do (you can pretend like us that burns all those extra vacation calories off).

Driving to EPCOT is easy. Just drive straight across at the intersection of Vacation Club Way and Bonnet Creek Parkway. This will merge into EPCOT Center Drive follow signs to EPCOT. By the way same to Magic Kingdom. You can also use the Monorail to park hop to Magic Kingdom.
