Saratoga Springs/Downtown Disney Walk Photos

Nice photos, Denise. I looked at a few others of yours as well.

Thanks so much for sharing the link to the photos, Denise.

Now that you've done the walking, I can just sit and do the walk vicariously! :lmao: Maybe have some munchies while looking at the photos. popcorn::

Thank you Denise for the beautiful pictures! They are absolutely wonderful. You have showed me a different side of Disney. There is so much to explore there and most of us miss it because we are too busy rushing around too enjoy it. My trip in July is going to be a lot less rushed so I'm going to try and take in the beautiful scenery.

That is very funny. :)

We had popcorn tonight (while I was finishing up the photos!)

PM me after your trip and let me know how it went! I am doing the POR/POF walk next - then more of Epcot, Disneyland Paris, etc. in the next 6 weeks. I have enough to occupy me this year!

The nice thing about Saratoga - I hadn't realized that there was the junction that joins SS, OKW and DD. So if you want to enjoy a morning walking through all those places, you can - I love the very early mornings for all the birds, bunnies and whatever else I see. And at Fort Wilderness, for the deer. :)

Thanks again! I'd forgotten how great SS was for walking, I live 40 miles away now so I can't walk everywhere all the time anymore! A few times a month is what it usually comes down to.

Wow, I loved your photos! I am also a lover of walking, and I will have to take that path at OKW to DTD. I always feel like I do so much walking as it is, but that looks pretty. I also miss the Treehouses, I have a total nostalgia about them from being a kid when they were around.

Thankyou very much, I love walking especially early in the morning. I was thrilled to see you`ve added more Disney walks to your website as I`d loved the WL - FW walk you`d done previously :thumbsup2

Thanks Meryl and everyone!

The walk to the treehouse area is short from SS. Just over the bridge, and to the right towards OKW. Of course, there is a blocked bridge - but at least you can see them across the water. :) I wish they'd rent them out, I'd love to stay in one again! The Buena Vista golf course is a little nostalgia for me - the logo just seems so 70's!.

Early morning is one of my favorite times to walk - before too many people are up and around, though the wildlife is.

Thanks Denise! These are great!:thumbsup2
We are making our first trips to OKW and SSR this year.

Thanks!

I'm not DVC, but I've stayed at both resorts. I like OKW for their HUGE 1 and 2 bedrooms. For the grounds, I like Saratoga Springs for the walkways around the resort (the inner sidewalks, not alongside the road - with the fountains). Olivias is a wonderful restaurant, and I used to be a member (for a couple of years) of the Disney Institute Health Club. I loved being a local member - I got all the fruit and tea I could eat/drink in a workout, and I loved the whirlpool/steam room. So Saratoga Springs will always remind me of that. And both are in great locations, easy walking distance/boat/bus to DD.

Anyway - sorry so wordy. I hope you enjoy both!!! They are both lovely resorts and the walking there is such a pleasure.

Wow Denise great photos!! Thanks for posting! I too love early morning walks. I almost wish we were staying at SSR this June instead of BCV but I can always drive over there one of the mornings for my walk. I also loved your pictures from your Boardwalk walk because with us staying at BCV in June I will definitely be walking in that area.

Cheryl -

I LOVE the Boardwalk for walking - that is one of my favorite places, I've done that walk more than any other (Fort Wilderness would be second). It is really nice in the morning, before hardly anyone is up - except those buying stuff at the bakery (that line never seems to go away!). :) I also like walking it in the early evening, before the crowds come back from the parks.

If I'm staying at the Pop (or other value resort), I will drive to Fort Wilderness for a morning, and often the Boardwalk (or DD) for a morning walk as well. Every area of Disney is so different...the nicest thing about the Boardwalk for me, and I lived in LBV for a year and walked there 3 or 4 times a week...there'd be kids playing football on the lawns of the resorts, families just relaxing on the beach...in my 2-3 hour late afternoon/evening walks, I'd feel like I was on a New England vacation!

The MK resort area I'll walk eventually for the site - that is different also, with sometimes a lovely mist above the water. I'll probably do an early morning and early evening for the site in May or June there.

I'm too talkative. Sorry! But the Boardwalk area is great for walking, you should REALLY enjoy your morning walks there.

Wow, you're so lucky to live there.

Great site. Your before/after pictures are something else. You should be very proud of yourself.

Thank you! I do enjoy living here. And I'm much healthier at 40 than I was at 30, I used to be 240 pounds (at 5'4). I still could use another 20 or so off, but I feel great (and Disney was a huge part of my exercise plan for a couple of years when I lived closer).

There is so much I want to do with the site - but I've only got 2 feet and usually a few days a month to go down there.

Thanks Denise We will only have 3 days at BCV but we are not doing the parks at all those days (we'll do the parks the week before when our friends are with us and we're staying at our Marriott timeshare) so I plan on getting in some nice morning walks and you have given me some great ideas on where to walk! We also have 3 nights at Vero Beach Resort, have you ever stayed and walked around there? Any suggestions for that area?

Congratulations on your weight loss and improved health!!!!!

You know, I haven't - that is a great idea and it's going on my list of walks to do. :) I HAVE stayed at the Hilton Head DVC location twice, but not when I was healthy at all! Of course, I'd have to spend a night or two there. Oh, the hardship. :)

I would like to do DCL/Castaway Cay this year too, if possible.

And thanks! I feel great, I love to exercise. The Disney section of the site started when my husband thought I should share what I do already at Disney. I find new walks that I've never done, which I really enjoy.
