Does anybody know anything about the new carriage ride? I was hoping to surprise DD and DH on Easter. Do you think it is running then? What number do you call for it? Does anybody have a picture to post?

I know it is running, it started earlier this year. I would imagine you would call WDW-Play for reservations.

I saw it Sunday night and it looked really nice. It was an old victorian style carriage with a cover... Really cute. Sorry I don't have any other details!

This is on my to do list for June!!

OOOH tell me more about it....

We were going to do this, but decided it was not worth it. From memory here are the details. The number is posted at the main bus stop across from the main pool on a small sign that describes the ride. The ride is $35 for 25 minutes and takes up to four adults. They were only offered in the evenings when we were there last week. It is a trip around the lake at the resort. Reservations are taken the day of.

I'd like to hear more as well. The carriage rides helped bring DW over to purchasing. She was telling me about how she would like to go to NYC and ride a carriage. I told her SSR has a carriage and she said, "Well, I'm there then." :thumbsup2

Not much more that I can tell you other than what I just posted. The concept is great and I love about anything equine but a walk around the resort lake just did not do much for me. Now if they took you back through the treehouse villa area and during the day, then it would have been more appealing. The walk around the lake is just as enjoyable walking on two legs.

DH and I did a carriage ride at POR -- very romantic with our own bottle of champagne. I think around the lake would be fine too!

Oh I think that I will have to try that the next time we stay there!!! I did one in NYC with DD when she was 4 and she loved it. That would be a real special treat!!!! :cheer2: :flower3: pixiedust:

soudns neat and a great price too....

I have been meaning to post the photos, but I am technically challenged and cant get my photo to upload to snapfish, photobucket or anything else for that matter. I will keep trying though.

We really enjoyed it! It was myself, Dh, 2 Ds's and my Dniece. We took our mugs with hot cocoa and it really was a nice ride. I thought it would be more like a hayride and was thrilled to see the beautiful carriage and horse! There were blankets too.

I thought it was a great price, and they will most likely go up as it gains popularity. Especially great for a family ride.

The Fort Wilderness Kennels book the rides but WDW-Play will transfer you if you dont know the number.

I think the Carriage Rides are a really nice touch!
