I am trying to combine a points reservation with the Spring Room Only discount. On-line through DVC I am allowed to book my family of 5 into a 1 bedroom unit at Saratoga. But through Disney reservations (paying cash) I can only book 4 into a Saratoga Springs 1 bedroom unit. Ugh! To make this simple, I am trying to keep my points and cash reservations on the same property. Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge (hotel rooms) only allow 4 so it looks like the best option I am coming up with for my late May/early June proposed trip is Boardwalk Villas 1 bedroom and Boardwalk Inn (hotel room). I am assuming getting our luggage moved from one to the other is pretty simple? Has anyone been able to book 5 in a Saratoga Springs 1 bedroom paying cash through Disney reservations? Ideally I would prefer to stay at Saratoga and hopefully avoid changing rooms. What complicates this even more is that I am trying to combine a week through an Interval trade (off site) with this!

The "official" occupancy for a SSR 1BR is 4 but DVC allows members a little flexibility and will allow 5 (although no linens or towels will be provided). DRC reservations typically rigidly stick to the "official" occupancy and won't allow more on the reservation.

Why not make the SSR cash reservation thru MS - you may even be able to get the 25% member discount applied.

Thanks for the reply. I was assuming that DRC reservations would allow 5 in a Saratoga Springs 1 bedroom since they allow 5 in some Port Orleans Riverside moderate rooms and most Deluxe hotel rooms and size wise they are much smaller than the 1 bedroom unit. Well, I believe through the Spring Room only discount, the discount is higher than through MS. Regular rates for my dates (June 1-3) for a 1 bedroom Villa are $490/night w/out tax. The Spring Room Only offer is showing rates of $343/night w/out tax. That is 30% off.

I'm sorry I'm hijacking here, but...you can book 5 in a room through DVC even if the WDW site lists room capacity as 4? I am looking into a week at BCV in a one bedroom and I'd love to be able to take my mom along with our family of 4+ (me, dh, dd6, ds5 & ds1) - and we'd gladly tote along an air mattress + linens to have a free babysitter!

So is it possible to rent points, book through DVC and have three adults, two children and a pack-n-play baby in a one-bedroom villa at the Beach Club?

Eternally grateful for this mind-bending answer. popcorn::

AnastasiaTremaine, your 1 year old wouldn't officially count so I believe your situation is OK now that DVC MS allows booking 5 in all their 1 bedroom units (but doesn't provide the bedding for the 5th person in units that don't have the sleeper chair).

My understanding is that DVC 1B villas with a listed occupancy of 4 will allow 5 total occupants of any age. NOT 5 occupants PLUS one under age 3...just 5 people total.

Availability could also be an issue for renting at BCV unless planning far in advance. Those rooms often fill up 8-9 months prior to arrival. Seeing cash availability does NOT mean that villas are available on points.

I am on the on-line reservation system (DVC) now. I am searching for reservations for Beach Club 1 bedroom villa and entered 3 adults and 3 kids (infant/5 yrs/6 yrs). It allows me to search and book what is available. If I change the infant to a 3 year old and keep everything else the same, I get the message "The room type selected cannot accommodate your travel party. Please make another selection." But yes, availability at BCV could be an issue. It would be best to find someone who owns at BCV who can book 11 months in advance. I am searching as far ahead as I can (7 months) and only Monday and Friday are available out of the Oct week I searched for.

6 people in a room designed for 4. I guess nothing should surprise me at this point. :headache:

One of the big reasons our dues keep going up...
