Sarah & Bobby's 11-13-11 WP/GF--Completed--ALL PHOTO LINKS FIXED!

I just moved right outside of Baton Rouge, about 15 minutes away. I did live very close to downtown :) Still work there though....

Love the shoes!! I think painting the bottoms would be so cute. And I'm a big fan of bling so bedazzling them would be awesome!
The clip would look great, but it may hurt your toes, depending how the shoes fit you :)

Brian and I went to the beach last weekend. It was much needed!! I hope you guys have a great time!!!!

Awesome! Thats so crazy you live so close, my cousin lives in Central and we've got a cluster of friends in Denham Springs as well as Greenwell Springs, and the 61/Florida Blvd area..IDK what thats called...kinda by Cortana Mall--ish? lol

Oh! Definitely bedazzle the shoes if you have the time! I am soooo jealous of those shoes I've seen on here!

Love the shoes!! I would totally bedazzle them!!

I'm always for more sparkle! So def bedazzle! About the brooch on the front you can always glue it on and remove the pin part from the back? Then you won't have any toe irritation!

Oohhh I really like the shoes--- and I REALLY like the price!!!! I definitely think you should bedazzle them. And maybe BRING a shoe clip for pictures, but not wear it under the dress? (It's not like anyone would see if anyway)

And YAY I am so glad I helped you save $1600! I do not think you are cheap at ALL to cut that stuff out--- they can drink and be merry! It's not like you're not going to have a huge, yummy dinner anyway--- but that's just me. (Do you watch Four Weddings? Last week, a girl on that show had over 22 stations for her prereception. CRAZY IMO!!!!)

Thanks, y'all! Ive definitely decided to bedazzle and have already begun the process! ;)

I am so glad you posted on the silk flowers thread! Love reading you PJ. Just to clarify when I said that you seem like a funky princess... i mean that in all good ways. ;-)

Shoes: I say bedazzle the heal, and paint the bottoms red. Just dont show my mom cause she'll steal them from you! :lmao:

Looking forward to reading more!

Oh girl, no worries..I AM a funky princess!! But of course, only in the good ways! :) Im glad you got a chance to look at the silks..Im about to do another post with even more!

Alright...so its been way too long...let me catch yall up on whats been going on lately.

After the planning session, everything was good I was waiting on the BEO and got it about a week or two later! :woohoo: Not half as long as I was expecting!! Everything is just about right, minus a few minor changes. But overall we are good. I've got a phone meeting scheduled with Lisa on Tuesday to discuss the changes to be made.

Lets see, we went to the beach for Memorial Day everything went great. DF and I had some nice quality time that was much much needed, and I hate to say it we could TOTALLY use some more lately...its been really rough, at least for me. So he graduated nursing school mid-may. We are waiting and waiting and waiting for his paperwork to come back from the state approving him to test (take the state boards) and then get a job..BUT THEYRE TAKING FOREVER!! DONT THEY KNOW WE'VE GOT A DISNEY WEDDING TO PAY FOR? AND WE NEED THE $$$...AND WE REALLY WANT TO GET OUR OWN PLACE....OH I DONT KNOW, THIS LIFETIME!?!?!?! RAAAWWWRRR---okay rant over. I just had to get it out. (If anybody here works for the State Board of Nursing here in Texas...PM me, please!) Ok so while we're waiting (impatiently) we found a great apartment to move into when we are ready! Im so excited to go sign a lease but we have to wait until after he has a job..booo. My job has had me so busy lately... and they took our internet away last week... so this explains my lack of visiting...:rolleyes1 Anyways, it sucks but we have to actually work when we're at work...what a concept! So we all have no choice but to suck it up. Its taking some serious getting used to though. I usually come in, check my personal email and maybe visit the boards a bit before I really get going in the morning and I feel like you all have been taken away from me...:sad2: So bear with me while I rework my DIS-ing schedule...:rotfl:

Ok...long post with no pictures, I suck I know..but Im about to post a HUGE update with lots of pretty pictures!! :goodvibes

So Im way too lazy for resizing in photobucket...I apologize ahead of time. :)

Ok so when we left off (about a month ago..bad DisBride, I know.) My dilemma was whether or not to bedazzle the shoes. I took all of you wonderful ladies' advice and bedazzled! Well one so far. Here's the before and after, whatcha think?

After looking at a few other girls' bedazzled shoes Im wondering if I should have used different sizes. The ones that are different size jewels look so great, and yes I love mine but are they okay? I think no one will be up in my feets' business checking them out but still...what do you all think?

We decided to change the FG dresses. Originally we bought some online and while theyre pretty and cute, the quality is so-so. And they had the potential to look cheap. Here's the old and new. I really like the new ones alot, and while they were definitely a pretty penny I think they'll be worth it. It should make them look more princessy, (so hopefully we wont have any whiny flowergirls...fingers crossed! ;) ) and it will also make the bridal party look more formal since these are floor length. Yall like?

I promise they looked a lot different in person..I guess you get what you pay for..especially coming from China? Although for what we paid, they are great! Definitely awesome halloween costumes or something like that! Dress up, etc. ;)

We went to Davids yesterday to return my old veil, since I bought the cathedral one with crystals (see a few pages back) and whilst there Mom peer pressured me into getting the better dresses. I completely agree with her and am glad we chose these. We also ordered my JBM's dress in black.

After seeing Nichole's invites I was all riled up to start my own! (Thanks, Nichole!) And here they are! Ive printed and bought stamps, I just need to assemble. Im not in a huge hurry for that though...Im not sure exactly when to send them out...what do yall think? My RSVP date is Oct 1st...what is an acceptable time frame to give guests?

I just love them! And for the less than $100 bucks I spent on them, Im an extremely happy girl!! :yay: I think these have been one of the best budget savers so far. Im really very pleased!

And one last thing, we have finished the bouquets! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: We wrapped the BM ones with rhinestone bands and put little rhinestones inside them for some extra oomph and flair..Im really pleased with them. I put my tiara addition to mine, but Mom thinks mine should have rhinestone bands like the other one and lose the tiara..what do y'all think? They look so much better than I thought they would! More points for Mom!

Ok, so if that wasnt massive enough, I will probably be doing little updates here and there maybe later tonight or sometime this week. We have changed the favors and Im sure theres something else Im forgetting...so hopefully I remember. Let me know what yall think about the updates, I really value you ladies' feedback! :grouphug: Anyways, hope everyone is doing well...enjoy the rest of your Sunday! :wizard:

Holy kicka$$ update!!!! :D

First off--- fingers crossed about DF's job situation. These people need to realize that our weddings are dependent upon them and they should act accordingly! You could just go bridezilla on the board...

But, I LOVE THE SHOES!!!!!!! Very glass slipper chic, I think.

Also, your invitations are lovely!

AND I LOVE the bouquets! They look REAL and stunning, especially yours!!!! Brava!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the bouquets!!! They look amazing!!!
And I really love the shoes as well!!! The invitations look great as well!
I like the new flower girl dresses! Definitely more princess-y! Also love the JBM dress!!

Wow, amazing updates! First of all, your shoes look fantastic. I think for the style of shoe that you have, the smaller jewels that are all the same size look better. The invitations are also beautiful.

And the flowers came out amazing! I am assembling my own bouquets - but with real flowers, so we're doing them the night before. I'm super nervous they won't come out well! Any tips?

Sweet Sarah - I normally read yor PJ, but i am really bad about posting!!!! Anyway, I just wanted to drop by and say that I love everything you are doing!!!! The invites are lovely - really elegant!! IMHO, I think the shoes look great with all the same size crystals. For what it's worth, I agree with your Mum and think you should have a crystal band on your bouquet too. The tiara is cute but it may not sparkle from every angle like the bands will!!! Again, just MHO. Keep up the good work!!!

Your shoe turned out great and the invitation is perfect! I also agree with your mom...you should add a crystal band to your bouquet. Keep up all the great work. Everything is really coming together and it is all wonderful.

Great updates! Your shoes turned out great!! They make me want to start a new project, but I think Dustin will kill me if I get a new pair of shoes ;)

Love the invites and bouquets too!! We are giving our guests about a month to rsvp, so I would wait to send until late August. Too much longer and people will forget or misplace the invite.

Y'all are doing a great job on everything. Shoes look great! FG dresses are adorable. . . like the bouquets and I'm with my sister on putting the same band on your bouquet. . . like someone else posted . . . you will only see the tiara from one side. Bang up job, darling! Love You.:cheer2:

So glad someone agrees on the princess factor of the new FG dresses, if they had my size I might have to buy one and wear it around just for fun...lol.

Yay for the fun update! Everything looks great, especially the shoes..LOVE them!

THANKS! :cutie:

Hmm...tips? Well for the BM bouquets we actually used small styrofoam balls and put them into (dont laugh) plastic cake separaters..the pillar kind. All the premade bouquet holders were really skinny and IMHO they have a tendency to look fake with skinny handles. We just wrapped them in satin ribbon and no one will know! ;) Anyways, we clipped the stems to about an inch and a half and stuck them into the styrofoam then took them out, put hot glue inside and stuck them back in. It didnt take too much time at all. I had a specific vision of rose balls, I guess its a "pave" style bouquet so thats why the balls were used. You can get creative and customize it to whatever your vision is. Have an open mind and remind yourself you have time to make it perfect...I have a history of freaking out and wanting to quit after about 10 minutes of frustration, then i get anxious and stress myself out. Only do it when your in a good mood and super calm..lol. ;)

Im glad you like them though, thanks! I cant wait to see how yours turn out..Im sure theyll be gorgeous! :thumbsup2

Thanks, I agree with you about the tiara! Were gonna replace it with the rhinestone bands..maybe I just needed to hear it from someone besides my mom... :rolleyes1 Darn us stubborn daughters! I guess she really does know best..lol!

Thanks Dolly! So glad youre still keeping up!! :goodvibes

Ahh geez, your totally right about people losing them..lol. I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of them were lost! :rotfl: Im so glad you like the invites! I do too, but Im still completely obsessed with yours! They are fab, youre amazing! :worship:

Well its been pretty quiet on the front here lately. Im trying to be better about updating and visiting more often now, especially after being cut off at work :sad2: I swear Im going through withdrawals!

Mom picked up some FG tiaras today (50% offf at Hobby Lobby! I love their bridal events!!) Theyre so cute! Theyre silver though :cutie:

Also, Mom had the bright idea of nixing the glass hurricanes as altar decor since we are shipping stuff down to FL and glass is a little...whats the word..fragile? lol So we've decided that some larger oversized centerpieces will replace the 4 glass hurricanes. It'll basically be the centerpeices but larger. We found the same vase we used for the centerpieces but larger, so were gonna order these and make two more larger flower balls! I'll upload pics when were done, but heres the vase..just a cheap plastic one that look just likethe ones you can rentfrom DFTW but these are $4.29! Do you guys think these will be okay on the altar? or the hurricanes will be better? BTW...These vases are 11.5 inches on their own, not including the big ball of flowers.

So my first bridal shower is next weekend....:scared1: I cant believe all this stuff is starting already!! Im really excited, my cousins who are throwing it are decorating everything withthings that I can decorate my house/apt with (when we get one..lol) Im excited to see how it all turns out, it should be fantastic!! With all the bridal shower excitement, I naturally dont know what to wear :rotfl: I know a lot of what to wear is dependent on the formality of the event. Its going to be a bridal shower/luncheon at a restaurant in Baton Rouge. Now while its no 5-star country club, or anything like that, its not a crappy hole in the wall either..Think of your average Friday night restaurant with a private room. Theyre food is really good at this place...I really need to start thinking about what to order to eat..Clearly I am indecisive..:rotfl2:Anyway...I digress. So I went out last weekend and bought a dress, I absolutely love it but Im not sure that its worth what I paid...but like I said, I really love it :confused3 Im so torn. Then I found a cute white sundress in the back of my closet that Ive actually never worn before and it fits nicely too. Then I went browsing around the other day at lunch and found a steal on the clearance rack! Its so cute! Now Im torn on what to wear...and this is where y'all's opinions come in! Please help me and vote! TIA :cutie:

Dress 1--The expensive one that I really like but dont know if its justifiable...this sucker was $80 bucks! Maybe Im just being cheap but I feel like I could go find something similar at Forever 21 for like 12 bucks..lol.
IMAG0227.jpg

Dress 2--The cute little white one, never worn but has been hiding in the back of my closet for I dont know...4 years..lol.
IMAG0225.jpg

Dress 3--The $18 find on the clearance rack at Kohls!
IMAG0228.jpg

Thanks girls, looking forward to your votes!

Hmm... I must say #1 or #3??! $80 ISN'T bad for a dress.. could you wear it on your honeymoon?

This might be because I'm coming from Australia, and clothes here are so much more expensive, but $80 is down right cheap!! :lmao:

It's a really cute dress and I think it will fit a lot more nicely in a restaurant. The other two are really nice too, but I see them more as an alfresco option :confused3

I like both #2 and #3. I think those two look more like "Bridal Shower" dresses anyway. And I'm with you, $80 seems like too much for a dress like that, even though it is pretty!

I think #3 screams "bridal shower" to me. #1 is very pretty, but I think it's more rehearsal dinner-y to me... so, what -I- would do is hold onto it with the receipt, and stalk the website to see if it goes on sale/clearance. Then, when it goes down, return the dress... and buy it again! :D

I like them all, but #3 is my fav for a bridal shower. #1 would make a great dinner dress for the honeymoon, and #2 would just be cute to wear on the honeymoon. :cutie:
