Sarah & Bobby's 11-13-11 WP/GF--Completed--ALL PHOTO LINKS FIXED!

whoa whoa whoa... i have a lot to catch up on!! first of all... your shoes look great! i would wear them every day after the wedding because they're SPARKLY!! luv luv luv them :lmao: i'm glad you got a great deal at bonnet creek! it's close and will save lots of $$ which will give you more to spend!! hopefully when bobby interviews he'll be able to tell them he's getting married and will need time. most places are pretty good about this--it's an understanding situation in most cases. i don't think it would prevent him from getting the job as long as he keeps an open mind and prepares for them to say yes or no. i'm also loving the flower girl dresses!! cute and great deal!! i'm totally into deals right now... can you tell?? lol, my bank account is looking quite sad after a 10 day vacation  well i'm going to catch up a bit more, then maybe i'll do a little update myself by the end of the day :wizard: hope everything is great!

thanks, i may end up wearing the shoes everyday too! im hoping the honeymoon thing works out with bobby, and I REALLY hope he gets a job soon! but if it doesnt, things will be fine..worse things have happened than not going on a honeymoon right away. (im trying to have a positive, cest la vie attitude lately...lets just say its easier said than done. im a stress ball constantly and think thats what im just used to..this new thing is weird!)

I think we are going to postpone our actual honeymoon by about 6 months. We will be in Disney for the week, but had planned to go somewhere else by ourselves right after. It's something to look forward to after the wedding, and the weather will be nicer in most places in the spring too.

We are also not taking a honeymoon right away. We'll be taking at least five days off for the wedding so we really don't want to take a full two weeks off of work. Like others have said, we'll be in Disney for at least two days after the wedding so time to relax together. Our wedding is in September so we'll wait until December or even spring break next year to plan a trip. I spend a lot of time planning trips and don't want to be stressing over doing that while also doing wedding stuff. It then also gives us something to look forward to.

Thanks girls, its so nice to know Im not alone! Hopefully we can find a good deal in the spring if it comes to that!

I LOVE your shoe!!!! I wish I had the patience to do something like that... :rolleyes1

Its actually really relaxing to do it. Im thinking about starting to make them on the side..let me know if you'd like some! :)

I'm sure that will work out nicely! I mean, you will be Disney after all, so it won't be like your wedding is one day and you're at home for the rest of it. And it will give you time to plan and save... and something to look forward to!

Thanks! I really think we may just stay a few days at the GF if we cant get a "real" honeymoon right after..and the GF is good enough for me! Ive never stayed there before! I just wish DF could get as excited about extra days at disney as I am..:sad2: We'll figure it all out one way or another! --staying positive

:cool1: Less than 6 months, girlfriend! :goodvibes

I hear ya about not taking a trip right after the wedding...Chris and I have decided to postpone our honeymoon for a few months too. Even though we'd love to escape for a while, November / the holiday season is too hard to plan anything, so we're thinking January would be perfect to take a vacation (Plus crowds are usually lower in beachy places then.)

Also, that's great about Bonnet Creek! The pictures look great--and if you are able to save even just a little bit of money...that helps!

Thanks! Really it wouldnt be so bad if we postponed it. There are pros and cons on both sides of it. Who knows how it'll end up!

Less than 6 months!!

Your shoes turned out amazingly! And I love the flower girl dresses, they will feel so special wearing them, and you got a great deal!

Thanks! I love the shoes and the girls' dresses, they are exactly what I would have liked to wear if I was a little girl! :cutie:

Well its been a crazy few days...lets recap:
Last Thursday I had to take Lady (my mini schnauzer) to the animal hospital because she was SICK! Diarrhea, blood, vomit, you name it! YUCK! So I took her, they ran some tests and gave her some medicine for the fever and antibiotics..wouldnt ya know it she gets right better! Thank goodness! I was so worried about her! Although it sucked a pretty penny out of my savings account for the wedding..:sad2: Oh well, she's better now and thats all I care about. :)
Friday I left to go visit my cousins in Louisiana. They are my Maid and Matron of Honor. We had a girls weekend full of yummy and fattening foods, BM dress shopping, and we also went to go see Bridesmaids. It was fun! We settled on a dress! Yiippeeee!!! Here it is:

I've also decided on a cake!! Here it is! --stolen from another disbride, thank you!!

I have about 5 weeks until my first shower! :scared1: July 4th weekend my family is throwing me a bridal shower in Louisiana, and possibly a "Honey Do" shower. Im not too familiar with these but I guess its kind of a dual shower? Anybody know about these? Im lost! Anyways this past weekend they took me to the restaurant hosting it, its really cute! Sorry I didnt take any pictures!

My BM's here in town are throwing me a kitchen themed bridal shower in September and showed me the invitiation...I. LOVE. IT. ...like ridiculously love it! Its a Beauty and the Beast, or 'Be Our Guest' theme.. SO ADORABLE!! What do yall think?
bridalshowerinvite-edited.jpg

AND MAJOR NEWS!!!Today is my Planning Session! Since I had to cancel our July trip we switched to a phone session..its today at noon. What do I need to do, ask, have ready, etc? Has anyone had a phone session? How'd it go? What should I be on the lookout for, etc? Really Im so clueless! :confused3 I will let yall know how it goes and update afterwards!princess:

Okay, those invites are absolutely frikkin fabulous! I love them! Did they design them?

Good to hear about your little pup! I feel your pain. I have a Chihuahua and god forbid anything happens to her, there goes all my savings! Aoy. Esp with not having a job right now, it'd kill me. Crazy how expensive little puppies are! ;D

The cake is GORGEOUS. I love it! And I can't wait to hear all about your planning session!

Oohhh I like the dresses! And those invites are great--- it's going to be so much fun!!!!

I can't wait to hear about your Planning Session!!! :)

(Also, I'm glad your puppy is feeling better. I have a dog too, and I spend so many hours of the day worrying about him even when he's NOT ill, so I completely understand!)

So glad to hear your puppy is ok! I had to take one of mine to the emergency vet last year for similar symptoms, and I was a total wreck the whole time she was there! Those little furry guys sure do steal our hearts.

I love those dresses! They look beautiful and timeless. And what a gorgeous cake!

i love everything! the cake is sooooooooo pretty!! i think the dresses will flatter anyone!!

i'm so glad that lady is feeling better. just think... we freak so bad over these little precious doggies... what's going to happen when we have kids?? :confused3

can't wait to hear about your PS!!

:cutie:Thanks for all the sweet words for my puppy! It is so crazy how attached we all become and the things we would do and go through for them. I second Deena's comment, if its like this with animals what will I be like with my own children...eep!

Anyways the PS went great today. Took about 3 hours and probably 8-10 pages of notes...:rolleyes1
Some of the things Im not sure about yet are:
Whether or not to get ready at GF and walk over or Bonnet Creek and get a limo..not sure which is the most cost effective option and also which will be easiest. Anyone have any insight on this? I added the limos and just assumed for plannings sake that we would be getting ready at Bonnet Creek since there will be more room and stuff there...hopefully the prices arent out of this world :scared1:
Food: As it stands we are a little over budget, but swinging it will depend on the pricing that the bakery gives us for the cake. Which brings me to FOOOOOOD!

Here's what we've chosen so far:

Pre-Reception:

Antipasto Display--DOES ANYONE HAVE PHOTOS OF THIS?
Italian Meats
Cheeses
Grilled Vegetables
Bread

Reception:

Appetizer: Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese
Salad: Ceasar Salad (plated tableside)
Entree: Beef Filet & Parm Crusted Chicken w/mushroom sauce Duet
Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes--from LeCellier
Seasonal Vegetables

Open Bar: 4 hour package
bar to be open from 3:30-4:30(pre reception), close from 4:30-5:00 for everyone to move to reception and get settled during intros, first dance, etc. and then close at 8:00, 30 minutes prior to our reception ending.

We will se what the cake price is..hopefully its not too much..I'd like to keep the duet as our meal. :cutie:

Besides that it was mostly small details that I thought of errantly or definitely didnt think of. Like, what to have the servers wear, transportation, who sits and walks where during the ceremony, and then this one thing I didnt even think of...here's how the convo went:
Planner: "So are you going to do a bouquet toss, garter throw?"
Sarah: "Yes, definitely"
Planner:"Okay, so you have enough single people for that?
Sarah: "Uhhhhhhh, Hmmmmmmm, Uhhhhhh I dont really know. Let me look into that..Im not sure."
Planner: "Yeah, sometimes when theres only a few singles out there it can be really really awkward for everyone involved."

So yeeeeaaaahh...I need to look at our guest list and re evaluate, especially after we get rsvps back..cause that would suck big time! :sad2: Im so glad she brought that up.

I kind of high balled everything and put all the bells and whistles in so I can get sticker shock and then take stuff out later, hopefully I dont die when I see the BEO in a few weeks..:rotfl2:

I will update with more as I think of it ladies..hope this helps some of you all!

Glad you're puppy is doing better!
What part of Louisiana did you go to? I'm from Baton Rouge :) And you're right, the food here is delicious and way too fatty
A honey do shower is mostly for the groom. Both the bride and groom go, but it's the groom who gets the presents. You know, manly things like tools and such.
I love that cake. I had that cake saved as one I was originally thinking about :)
And I like your BM dresses!
Your beauty and the beast invites are way cute!!!

I also love that cake idea! And the invites for your bridal shower are super cute. And your food choices for the reception sound delicious!

So glad your baby is doing better!!! I know how it is to worry and especially what it does to the pocket book. I have 3 Shih Tzus and worry constantly about them.

Looks like everything is coming together. I love the BM dresses and invite is adorable.

Everything sounds great from your planning session! And I'm offically STARVING after reading your food menu! ;D

Definitely update us with stuff as you think of it! I can only imagine how exciting that phone call was! =]

Ooohhhh your menu sounds PRETTY awesome, not gonna lie! All the food sounds yummy, especially the mashed potatoes. :thumbsup2 But, if you DO need to remove anything--- maybe something from the pre-reception? That IS a lot of food! (But, again, it all sounds good. So just my 2 cents!)

My BM said that she found someone on etsy to design them. I guess she told her the theme and the woman ran with it?! :confused3 Either way its AWESOME! IM IN LOVE!

Glad you're puppy is doing better!

Yep, Baton Rouge is where I was. What part of town are you in? I used to live there as a child then moved to Lafayette. I've got family all over Mississippi and Louisiana...I love it. Sometimes I wish I could move back but I really have no reason to leave Houston..I enjoy the suburbs of a big city. Actually, just about every time I visit family I want to move back. :lmao:

Thanks!!

Thank you! We are both much happier without an upset tummy!

OMG!!! love Love LOVE your bridal shower invites!!! Beauty and the Beast is my fave! and those are adorable!!

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Believe me, when I was writing it up my stomach was growling SOOO loud! :rotfl: Thanks, I hope the food turns out half as good as it sounds!

Okay, honestly I didnt even think about cutting pre reception food...but as soon as you brought it up I ran with it! It cuts over $1600 from my budget!! Its not like people cant drink for an hour at the cocktail hour, right? Theyre about to eat a GIGANTIC AWESOME meal I doubt it would be a big deal to skip. My mom's co worker used to work in catering and said for our time of day it is totally acceptable..and since were doing an open bar it would keep them somewhat occupied. What do you think about that? Is it cheap or trashy to take that part out? I dont plan to tell Lisa until after I recieve the BEO so we can make necessary changes all at once. You are so smart for bringing that up, thanks! :thumbsup2

So the Shoe Saga Continues:

I love my flats, but I am a HIGH HEEL girl. Now when I say HIGH I mean it..I do best in 4-6 inchers. Im only 5 feet, so I need all the help I can get. And I want to be completely happy with my ensemble for the wedding and not wonder "what if I could have made it work with heels, etc" so I got to thinking....Mom can sew pretty good, and she has already offered to add length to my dress, why dont I take her up on it and be completely happy??!? DUUHH! All there was to do was find a match for my lace, easy task..right? Wrong. We headed to a major huge fashion fabric store here in the city and began the hunt. We probably looked through 300 bolts of different patterns of lace, 300 lace edgings, had a bolt avalanche off of a shelf.. and finally found a perfect pattern match! Keep in mind Im dragging my wedding dress around the store as well..for matching purposes. So I look like a real baffoon knocking everything over. Anyways we find the lace, take it to the table to look up close and the color is off by maybe a shade or two...no go. You cant dye lace, or mix colors, so it would have looked really stupid. Im pouting in the car home and Mom offers to stop by Davids and see if alterations has fabric or if they can order it..I oblige and we are on our way. We get there I head back to put my dress on with my slip and explain the fiasco to the alterations girl. Since we've already had the bustle done I cant switch the petite out for a regular length...CRAP! :headache:...back to square one again. Mom went to find some shoes for me to try to prove our point to alterations girl..they were cute and I thought too tall...So I put them on and VOILA! Its great, with the slip and shoes the dress falls tothe perfect place. The scalloped edges are grazing the floor, which is where alterations would raise it to had I ordered a regular length. So by buying the shoes (which were on clearance for 24.99, might I add) we were saving major moolah! :cutie: Major points for Mom who scores again with the shoe find..she's pretty awesome to have around! (Hi Mom, love you, youre the greatest!) They must be discontinued because they are hard to find online! I bought them in white. Not my first choice but at this point I will take whatever I can get. It has a 2'' heel I think so its decent sized.

Like I said, they will be white:

What do y'all think? Should I bedazzle them with my hotfix tool? Paint the bottoms red (like the signature Louboutins I've drooled over but cant afford?) Add a shoe clip to the front?--would that irritate my toes or hurt? Leave them alone? Im just not sure.

I think thats all the excitement for this week. Bobby and I are going to the beach this weekend to spend some quality time away. His parents will be going and it'll be nice to have time with them also. I need some sun, bad! We're also going to be looking at honeymoon stuff this weekend, hopefully we can at least narrow down our area or island of choice! It is hard work!!

Alrighty, hope you all enjoy your long weekend and make it SAFE! Happy Memorial Day! :goodvibes

I just moved right outside of Baton Rouge, about 15 minutes away. I did live very close to downtown :) Still work there though....

Love the shoes!! I think painting the bottoms would be so cute. And I'm a big fan of bling so bedazzling them would be awesome!
The clip would look great, but it may hurt your toes, depending how the shoes fit you :)

Brian and I went to the beach last weekend. It was much needed!! I hope you guys have a great time!!!!

Oh! Definitely bedazzle the shoes if you have the time! I am soooo jealous of those shoes I've seen on here!

I'm always for more sparkle! So def bedazzle! About the brooch on the front you can always glue it on and remove the pin part from the back? Then you won't have any toe irritation!

Oohhh I really like the shoes--- and I REALLY like the price!!!! I definitely think you should bedazzle them. And maybe BRING a shoe clip for pictures, but not wear it under the dress? (It's not like anyone would see if anyway)

And YAY I am so glad I helped you save $1600! I do not think you are cheap at ALL to cut that stuff out--- they can drink and be merry! It's not like you're not going to have a huge, yummy dinner anyway--- but that's just me. (Do you watch Four Weddings? Last week, a girl on that show had over 22 stations for her prereception. CRAZY IMO!!!!)

I am so glad you posted on the silk flowers thread! Love reading you PJ. Just to clarify when I said that you seem like a funky princess... i mean that in all good ways. ;-)

Shoes: I say bedazzle the heal, and paint the bottoms red. Just dont show my mom cause she'll steal them from you! :lmao:

Looking forward to reading more!
