Does anyone know if the Santa's are out until World Showcase closes? Or is it just during the day? :santa: pluto: :goofy: :mickeyjum :donald: :tigger:

Hi Dopey 0331, and Welcome to the DIS! :sunny:

I don't remember seeing them at night, but someone else here is bound to know for sure. I just wanted to say we're glad you found us. :)

Many of the international "Santas" have been out after dark in previous years.
Here's "Papa Noel" at 7:30 pm:

Notice the trademark, plaid Canadian shirt. Ya gotta love it. I don't remember seeing any out later in the evening, but I've usually had a few beers by then :drinking1 and wouldn't notice the space shuttle if it flew overhead!

There will be a schedual posted so pick one up at your resort. If I remember correctly they will go all the way until about a 12 hr before closing but it DOES takes some planning to see all in one day. You have to start early afternoon to accomplish that. :goodvibes

Thanks for the information Angel's momma. I want to go during christmas next year and this will help alot.

That is so funny I am from Canada and "my" Santa doesn't look ANYTHING like Papa Noel...I don't even own a plaid shirt! LOL

I know I am from Canada too !!!!!! I thought it was weird the last time when the girl who was in the Canadian pavillion was talking to us about Canada. I laughed her with her plaid shirt.
I was wondering where do they have Kwanzza or Hannukah storytelling?
Also which Santas or countries are not to be missed? We are going to try to make all of them but just incase. Also what do the Americans talk about for 30 minutes in comparison to all the others 15 minutes long?
thanks Diane

My DH and I saw the Kwanzaa speaker in the American Pavilion in Nov. 2004. He came out just before the Voices of Liberty. I didn't notice if he was listed on the map or not. Hope this helps. :teeth:

We will be there Nov 29-Dec 5. Will the Santas be out by then, or will the elves be keeping them tied down at the North Pole (or wherever they spend their time outside of the US)?

They were out by the first week in December last year but I am not sure when they start.

I thought the Mexico was the best that we saw (we did not see them all) and it is interactive for the kids and ends with candy for them.

Not positive, but I think it's just a visit with Santa (like at the mall), and he's out for 30 min. at a time. We didn't do it, but that's what it looked like.

Usually both the Kwanzaa and Chanukkah storytellers are at American Adventure (check your map guide)

When we went in Dec 2004, the only storyteller that we never seemed to make was Norway's Gnome character...

My favorites were: 1) La Befama in Italy. Wonderful woman, great storyteller.
2) the Daruma dollseller in Japan (though your mileage may vary. We saw a different woman performing on a later date and she was still good, but not as good as the first cast member we saw).

3) The Monkey King in China

Least favorite: Mexico - While she told the story of the Feast of the Three Kings, the lone female cast member was no substitute for meeting the actual Three Kings (who were nowhere in sight throughout our trip).
