hi all just had a couple of quotes about staying at both santa fe and explorers and exploers have come in £100 more expensive for a 4 night stay next march.
We are trying to decide which is worth staying at, is it better being nearer the parks at santa fe or is it worth paying the xtra and having a pool and more childrens facilities (will be taking a 2 year old and 4 year old) but being further away? any advice woule be appreciated we just can't decide where to stay.
thanks

Im surprised theres a £100 difference. We stayed in both at Easter and Explorers worked out about same price. Where have you got your quotes from? Have you looked on Expedia?
I thought they were both OK and would stay at them again. When we were at Explorers we didnt have park tickets so used the pool etc but if we had had tickets (as we had when at santa Fe) we wouldnt as we were in the park all the time.
Is it over Easter you are going? You will probably find the parks are open longer hours.
Also are both options with tickets? You could look at room only and get AP which may work out cheaper.

Will you be wanting to return to the hotel for your children to have a daytime nap? If so, the Santa Fe is closer and would therefore be more convenient.

Would you be likely to use the swimming pool? Bear in mind that many people have every intention of going swimming then don't find the time! ;)
If you're sure you would definitely use the pool then go for the Explorers.

If it was me I would opt for the Santa Fe, not only will you be closer to the Magic but you will have saved some money! More spends for souvenirs! :yay:

Never been to any other hotel than Santa Fe and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else either as we spend ALL the time in the parks. The hotel is superb for what you pay for.:cheer2:

We stayed at the Santa Fe in April and it was fab. for the money you couldn't get a better place to stay. Never got the shuttle bus as the walk in along the stream was so nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel. i was a bit worried after i read some reviews but was pleasantly surprised.
The only thing i would recommend is that if you have young kids to ask for a ground floor room. I did see some people struggle to get pushchairs etc up the stairs.
Have a fab time,
kath

The santa fe is a lovely place to stay i've stayed there and in cheyenne which was also nice it's handy having the buses running regular and as someone posted earlier you really can't fit in going to the pool!!
There is a play area in santa fe and my son never ever got to it you just get too busy.
