We are going to be at Disney on Christmas day and wondered if anyone has done the santa thing while on vacation there? We have an 11 year old and 6 year old. The are hoping that Santa will leave gifts at the hotel on Christmas day but how do you hide them until then. Don't want to leave them in the car until Christmas Eve. Any tips or ideas how to pull this off?

It's been nine years since we were there for Christmas - at that time my kids were 4, 8 and 10. I took their stockings and hung them in the room. I had packed a few things already pre-wrapped for their stockings and a couple of gifts as well - we drove, so I left everything in the car. On Christmas Eve, we got them settled into bed, and I headed to DTD to pick up one gift each they had pointed out the day before that they liked. I had special 'Santa' wrap packed as well, and I wrapped the gifts out in the parking lot, then went back to the room to make sure they were sleeping. Grabbed the stockings and went to the car to stuff them, then snuck back into the room and hung them back up and displayed their gifts on the table and jumped into bed. They were so surprised in the morning. We got a nice surprise too, as Santa had left a plastic stocking (Mickey themed) on our door knob full of candy. It was fun and the decorations were amazing. Enjoy!:santa:

How magical is that??? I would love to visit during the holiday, but I don't want to miss my family time here:) I can read all the trip reports of you that will be there...thanks for putting a smile on my face for today:)

We were there with my nieces, 2yr. & 6yr., for Christmas in 2005. I bought a tree, red/white lightes and small balls at Hobby Lobby and took it. Checked it as a bag at the airport. That day when we arrived we went to DTD and bought some Mickey ornaments at the Christmas store. We decorated the tree that night. The girls loved it. Throughout the week, we bought things at the parks, DTD and the resorts that they would like. On Christmas Eve, they bought sugar cookies & hot cocoa for Santa at Roarin' Forks @WL. They left them by the tree for him. Next morning when they woke up Santa had come! They thought that was the best!! :santa:

We haven't decided if we're going to have Santa bring gifts or if he's going to come by our house and leave them for us for when we get home. ;)

Christmas Day just happens to be MaddieMouse's 5th birthday, which really is the whole reason we're going. EvanMouse is 11, he knows about Santa, sadly, but we need to think of how we're going to handle the whole Santa issue with her. Not to mention birthday presents!

We are still waiting a southwest ding so if one doesn't come,we may be driving (20 hours from Michigan!) but that would make the present issue a lot easier, we could stash them in the stow-and-go.

It'll work out, it always does!

We just did this last year!

We were at AKV during Christmas week. We checked in on Dec. 20 & I kept all the gifts hidden in a huge (largest duffel ever made!) duffel bag the entire week. DS9 never looked in it once....just thought there were clothes in there.

On Christmas Eve, after he & DD13 were asleep, DH & I put the gifts out. (We had a tree delivered from Peggy, sadly, she no longer has her own business).

*I had pre-wrapped all our gifts in Disney-themed Xmas paper. I'd spent about 2 months before our trip just searching for all the different types!
