Santa Cruz in October?

Is Santa Cruz a god place to go in October? What are the best places to stay? Things to do, etc? We want to do a trip for my daughters birthday.. If it is not any other options on where we can go? Disneyland is unfortunately not an option since we just did a trip in May Thanks for the help!!!

We like the Sea Cliff Inn (Best Western) in Aptos.

Two things there is the Boardwalk which has rides, and I went to a place called Roaring Camp which is a vintage loggin train that goes into the redwoods.

Not sure if these operate in the late Fall.

October is a wonderful time to visit Santa Cruz. Most of the tourists are gone and so is the fog. We usually have wonderful weather in October. Last year we did get this freakish huge storm but that was the first time in my 40 years that has happened.
As for where to stay it depends on what you want to do. There are plenty of motels near the Boardwalk but some are nasty so do your research.
