Would somebody please tell me what Tandoori cooking is? I honestly don't know. But part of the fun of Disney dining is trying food we have not ever tried. Is it spicy hot in flavor? :confused3 I have heard of it and was hoping somebody here could help me out.

TIA

It's a cooked in a clay oven. The chicken and short ribs combo were awesome. Not spicey at all. Very nice and quiet place to dine. We think it's the next hidden gem (since the word got out about Kona Cafe!)

Tandoori cooking means cooking in a traditional Indian clay oven, called a tandoor. It can be spicy or not. I'd say that the style of cooking is most similar to what you'd get if you went to a Mexican restaurant and ordered fajitas--you know how the meat and veggies come out sizzling on that iron pan? It's sort of like that, but obviously with different vegetables and spices. Usually the meat is either chicken or fish, or sometimes lamb.

I'd say you should ask your server how spicy it is.

Tandoori chicken is good introduction to Indian food. It's usually very tender and is mildly seasoned. It also forms the base of some other dishes like Chick Tikka Masala, which is chicken with a mild tomato sauce.

One of the fun things about Indian cuisine is the condiments, which feature cool and spicy items. I've not been to Sanaa yet, but I'm sure the CMs will be glad to explain and recommend some dishes to try.
