Sanford airport . . . what's your experientce

We will be flying TransMeridian airlines from Toldeo to Sanford in Feb. Can you tell me about your experience at Sanford airport? Did you rent a car and was the pickup/dropoff convient? Thanks for your comments.

We flew into Sanford/Orlando from PanAm Airlines that is still around up here in the Northeast in '02. The airport was very nice, clean, and the people were very friendly and helpful. Baggage claim was a breeze! The rental counters were easily located and the cars were right outside the door. I would love to fly into this airport more often. Overall A+ in my book.

I agree with the above post- everyone friendly and professional. It is very small therefore easy/fast to get in and out. We did have a minor problem last summer. When we landed there was a little storm coming in and they wouldnt unload baggage until the storm had passed. We waited for about an hour. But we used the time to get snacks and get our rental car. I would definetly use it again if I could (the flight we used isnt around anymore).

Flew in and out of Sanford last week (Dec 22-29). We also flew Transmeridian from Rockford, Illinois to Florida. The airport is small and wonderfully convenient. We saw the mess at MCO with seas of baggage..it looked awful. I would definitely avoid the crowds...especially at xmas time. We went to Universal/IOA and used Sunrise Florida Transportation to/from the airport. They were excellent!
