Sanford Airport/Allegant Air

Flew Worcester MA to Sanford this month. It was a pleasure. They were pretty fast with the checked luggage too!

Tip for parents: There is no inflight entertainment (movies or tv offered)

3 of us flew Allegiant over Feb vacation. We jumped on intro fares, and it only cost us $403 for the 3 of us. We did bring our own sodas, snacks, etc. On the way down we couldn't eat our peanut butter crackers due to the presence of someone with a peanut allergy. My only complaint about returning to Worcester is the 7:30 am flight time. It's hard to leave WDW between 4:30 and 5 am! :( It even makes me think about driving the 2 hours to Portsmouth NH -- they have later return times!

For those who flew out of Worcestor how big was the plane? I used to fly out of Worcester in the late 90's and they where usually puddle jumpers that sat 12 people or so.

We are arriving at Sanford at 7:00 AM, would it be better to drive the I-4 or toll way to WDW?

thanks

We're flying Allegiant our of Sioux Falls, SD into Sanford this November. We did experience the price hike. But, it was just a $20 difference so not a huge deal. I paid the extra money to choose our seats. Hopefully it goes well as this is the first time my kiddos will fly! :)

Just a heads-up too. I see now that Allegiant has raised the seat selection fee to $11/per segment. FYI.

I am contemplating using Allegiant Air , I have a choice between Worcester, MA or Portsmouth, NH... We live on the North Shore, MA and each airport would be just under 1 hr.... If we go to WRC, the flight time going down is better--arrive in afternoon. However, we would have to pay a parking fee for two weeks..... If we go to PTS, we would arrive in Sanford @ 10 pm..but parking is free....Also the drive to PTS would be slightly shorter and an easier commute.....
I'm still a little nervous not using a larger carrier (Delta, AA, etc....) Has anyone had any bad experiences? It also makes me a little nervous that there is only one flight out each day....

We used Allegiant Air in January(out of Newburgh NY) and had wonderful service. The flight attendents were polite & professional .Of course it's a" no frills "airline but the ticket price and non stop flight were what interested us and we liked it so much that we'll be using them again in August. As far where you'd like to fly out of is up to you ,but I thnk I'd rather pay the parking fare and arrive at the resort in daylight hours only because it's a good 45 minute drive from the airportto WDW. :sunny:Ps I don't think your ticker is working because on 5/4 you were at 3mos &2 days and thats what it is still reading tonight 5/19!

Munchkin Bunchkin - We are flying out of Newburgh for the first time this Aug. on Allegiant. How easy (or difficult) is the check-in at Stewart? Do they have long-term parking close to the terminals? My husband and I were going to drive over on a "dry run" to check the airport out. We usually fly out of Bradley but we couldn't beat the fares Allegiant was offering. I'm only hoping the plane is not too small - I'm not a great flier!

Thanks for any info you have!

We are flying allegiant! We got a great fare! $59 each way from Portsmouth:) So a total of $131 per person including taxes.

Hi ColleenLoves Minnie! It was the first time we ever flew, so to us it was a breeze! We were the first ones there (myself ,hubby and our 2 girls). They checked us in and we went through security-only took about 15-20minutes to get upstairs. The long term parking area is very close to the terminal which was great because the day we left it was freezing! As for the plane it's not a 747 or any thing but we did have a total of 135 passengers! The best part was the nonstop flight and not to mention the low fare ( we got the intro price of $39 p/p)We enjoyed flying with them that why we're using them again in Aug! :cool1: :wave2:
